the "red squirrel in the morning" reminds me of the old southern gospel hyms that my great-grandmother used to sing at the crack of dawn. She'd be in the kitchen, cooking sausage on a wood stove, belting out harmonies in sacred harp tones -the do re mi version of hymns, the way she was tuaght to sing them as a small girl.

The first song I've ever heard by Fleet Foxes, ever, and I find it absolutely stunning.

this one takes a second (a minute and a half approximately) to pick up. beautiful nonetheless.
