Francis M
Francis M is widely respected as a pioneer in the field of Philippine rap. Born Francis Magalona, he's also known for incorporating aspects of his Philippine patriotism (stretching centuries into the past) in his music. The music of Francis M is adventurous and well performed and, though quite different from American rap, does achieve international standards. Though his recordings have never received Western distribution, he's been releasing popular records in his homeland since his debut on the OctoArts label in the early '90s. He came to regional prominence with his stint for BMG Philippines during the late '90s. His best wrap-up is a greatest-hits collection released in 2002 by Musiko. ~ David Gozales, All Music GuideMore

We are blessed because of Francis M.

So many faces… So many races… Different voices… Different choices… So many people are suffering right now because of Francis Magalona’s death. So many can’t believe it happened so fast. He contributed a lot into different industries in the Philippines and contributed a lot in touching lives of many Filipinos.

The news touched my heart a lot and at first, I didn’t know why. I just see him on TV and on gigs.Of course I know his songs. But then again I ask myself why I am so affected by the news? I listened to God’s voice and He revealed to me that we are so blessed. I relate myself to Kiko’s family and friends about the sorrow they are experiencing, and realized that it’s so hard to comprehend the loss of your loved one, as in the case of Kiko who is very popularly idolized by most, if not all, Filipinos. Maybe it happened because of God’s perfect will for us all. We cannot blame God because of the problems, tragedies or accidents happening to us. We have to admit to ourselves that these are part of LIFE. Life is short; we only have 1 life to live --- with our family, with our relatives, with our friends. What really touched my heart is that even though we have problems, we are still so blessed because WE ARE STILL ALIVE! And have the solutions to whatever circumstances may come. But people just don’t know how to overcome these problems that often lead to lost of hope. Kiko inspired alot of people, including me, because he was able to maximize his life by doing all he can to contribute to his legacy by composing, recording, performing and a lot more… Loving still though he knew that his life was getting to an end. We are blessed because there are still chances to choose good choices for our lives, choices that can engrave and leave history to the people around us, that can make an impact to this generation and generations to come, a light that can give people to see the brighter side of life, a power to overcome the fear of death. I saw all of these from the Master Rapper and I know he learned that from his Creator, the master of all masters -- “Jesus Christ”. Kiko never lost his hope in spite of his critical situation and he still believed on the power of prayer, that he can recover. But his life ended…and he died.

Life is not unfair. We have to believe in that. If not, then we have to check our character. We have to know that we are living in this world for a great purpose. A purpose that is not self-centered in all ways. Neither by being bad, nor being unfaithful, but learning, knowing and loving God.

God’s plan is always perfect. Even though we are encountering sufferings, we just have to see the brighter side of the whole picture. Because, again, it is part of life. Just noticed all the things happened after the death of Kiko. Some friends reconciled for sure while some began to hold on, persevere and keep their faith. He didn’t hesitate to always grab a chance to give his time, talent and love to the people around him. He learned to number his days and gave more efforts to show it to others.

All I know is that God uses people according to His amazing plan for the benefit of greater people to pick the right choices in life.
