Chicago-based Muslim MC Lupe Fiasco began rapping in junior high school and joined a group called Da Pak several years later. The group signed to Epic, released one single, and split up, all before Fiasco reached the age of 20. Thanks in part to the vocal support of Jay-Z, L.A. Reid signed Fiasco as a solo artist to Arista, but before anything of significance was able to happen (only a promo single and a couple guest appearances were set up), Reid was fired, leaving the MC without a label. Fiasco eventually landed at Atlantic. Preceded by the single "Kick, Push," as well as several mixtapes and an appearance on Kanye West's "Touch the Sky," the album Food & Liquor was set to surface during early 2006, though an unfinished version leaked during the spring, pushing its official release back to September instead. hey I just want to say that i love the lasers concept. I just went a human rights summit this weekend. thcivil rights was a huge step, but it was just a settlement. Everyone on earth should have the right education, a home, food, health.. these are the rights that were taken from us when our people settled for civil rights.. which can be taken.. from us and are being taken from us today. keep preaching truth- Gira Dahnee

Hip Hop wasn't only from the streets. It was from the heart, the mind, the soul. It was a way to express true consciousness poetically. It was sacred. Hip hop was you. Hip hop was me. Now...hip hop has become corrupted. Its true form, its innocences is being ripped apart for profit. I understand why Lupe doesn't want to be apart of it any more.

Lupe, stay in the game.

i'm not gonna call you lupe because i don't know you but i'm a HUGE fan of yours because saying im the biggest would probably be false being that your world renound.so there for keep up what your doing and please don't make lasers your last album i know u hate the business of music but stay in it because your my only hope hip hop sucks now minus you jay z ye and a few others that most people don't know. but your my favorite.
