people need to just appreciate good music when they hear it... biggie n tupac... not some bullshit ass techno shit playing today... stop comparing the two. we all grew up listening to the two side by side...

I agree with you all to a certaine extent. Yes, BIG and Pac are the greatest rappers of all-time, no arguement against that. But not ALL rap is garbage. Ludacris, 50 Cent, Jeezy, T.I. and Jay-Z are all people who are keeping hip-hop alive through their music, as well as Lupe Fiasco, Common and Kanye West. These are hip-hop's heavy-hitters and they're the face of what real rap music today sounds like. Whether they talk about how much clothes they own, a flow like Kanye and Lupe or the guns they have or drugs they used to sell like 50, T.I. or Jeezy, there are also the Jay's and Luda's who can combine those two and make hits. The only thing wrong with hip-hop today, and David Banner said this at the BET hip-hop awards, is bootleggers and Limewire.

Anyways, this is BIG's page and I just wanna say R.I.P to one of the greatest rappers who ever lived. The hits on this CD... 99.9 percent of rappers today (with the exception of the ones I named) can't even come close to making hits like these. BIG was the pioneer of gangsta rap and singlehandedly brought the east coast back into the music industry.

It is important to appreciate both Biggie and Pac for all that they did to the art of rapping. I am from Cali and the regional differences that are applied to music are so subjective. I am from the bay and it is amazing the differences in music from the north and south. Biggie was a great artist the best no there is no best there are only greats...and i love this song

as far as i'm concerned, all the best hip-hop either came out back in the oldschool days (Dre, Snoop, Wu-tang, Grand Master Flash, etc.) or is coming out now. and i'm not talking about that bullshit radio garbage. Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Sage Francis, Immortal Technique... these guys are taking the art-form of Hip-Hop to a new level. Their lyrics have serious depth. You can only say so much about a thug life, and when it comes down to it who wants to be a 1-demensional, bullshit thug anyway? Selfish, money-hungry fools. I mean, i'm all about rappers rapping about what they know (ex:N.W.A.) but after awhile thats all they are is rappers. You can't reallly call them artists after that.
