Who Can Share What As An MP3?

I love to add music to my blog pages. I am not certain about what music I can share though. There are CDs I've bought or received as gifts, but I cannot add them to a music collection on imeem for some technical reason. I've been under the impression that if I buy a CD, I can share the songs.

The last thing I want to do is make any artist feel ripped off. I don't think I have. It surely hasn't been my intention. If I want to share music, it's only to share the feeling of 'The Flow" the song puts me in. It is confusing to know that some songwriters don't mind others sharing their music, while others may want to tear my hair out. It's making me feel less than enthusiastic about this whole issue.
