Bowie was a huge MtH fan. When he found out they were going to break up, he actually wrote this song for them as a way to try to help keep them together. It worked for a while. He loved them so much, in fact, that he would stand backstage at some of their shows and introduce them to the audience, and eve hide in the back and sing backup for them. Which iswhy people say it sounds like Bowie's in the song. He is. ;) It really is a fantastic song.
