Since the emergence of Texas's Rap Scene in 2005, many have criticized that the city's music lacked substance. Artist Like Mike Jones, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and Chamillionaire all lead this wave of Houston's rise to the top. Although it was short lived there are still many artist in Houston's underground circut waiting eagerly for their chance to show and definitely prove. For Example Offtop Records/ Black Market Union's Founder Emanuel "Wel" Ayodele began getting his feet wet when this rise began. "I saw other ni**as doin it, so I was like let me try" Wel says when referring to his head-first dive into the rap game. Since 2005, him(Wel) and Co-Founder Jeremy "J-Dot"Johnson have succeeded in dropping a sleu of Mixtapes to garner a buzz in the streets of the south. With the Mixtape series; U Can't handle the Truth, and Just Another Mixtape also referred to as J.A.M. they were semi successful in completing their mission. Often referred to Even with the Solo effort "The Genius of It", where Wel finds himself giving his all on 15 Plus tracks, their mission still was stalled. "I do it for me" Wel says. Now returning with his solo effort "WE MAJOR" Wel again finds his self spitting like a man possesed. Intended as a 2007 Release, Black Market hopes to keep the fans happy by releasing all further Projects online, fully Downloadable and FREE. "Superbad" is gonna get their attention and "The Definition of Cool" is gonna keep it", J-Dot says while referring to Offtop's recent transition from CD to NET. The two Childhood friends bring two different styles to the table, so for those unfamiliar with the Duo be prepared for a sound some say "Deserves Attention". Wel has his eyes on the prize, and seems to be fully focused on what the years have in store for the Black Market Family.
