PLUGGED INTO THE MUSIC BLOGOSPHERE!

We're posting this latest show during the week of America's Independence Day holiday. A lesser site might dabble in wordplay about Independence Day and "independent" music or some such obviosity. Not here.

No, we're more concerned with the fact that we get an extra day off and an excuse to crank up some fresh new music. To that end, we've been trawling our favorite music blogs for suggestions--and they have not let us down.

On the show this week, we listen to new stuff from such freedom-lovin' locales as Paris, Vancouver, Manchester and beyond. We check in with one of our favorite Aussie bloggers to find out what's been cooking not just down under but also way up north (since he's a big Broken Social Scene fan, we had him give us the scoop on Brendan Canning's new solo record). And we look at the ten most-buzzed-about bands of the week via the Blog Fresh Chart.

Finally, we have a special guest blogger on the show this week in the form of Ice Cream Man! We go "behind the ice cream truck" to find out just how this dude manages to drive around the country going to all the big music events, giving away free ice cream and blogging about his adventures. Ice Cream Man and our host Abbey were both down at Bonnaroo, so they combine to give us a quick festival re-cap, to boot.

So there you have it. Whatever country you're in, we urge you to go forth and celebrate your very own "independent" taste in music (OK, so maybe we did go there after all...) and dig this week's show!
