About

Description
Los Angeles based BOB MALONE plays over 100 shows a year all over the world, and he has opened for and/or played with Rickie Lee Jones, The Neville Brothers, Rev. Al Green, Boz Scaggs, Vonda Shepard, Arlo Guthrie, and many others. He was featured as a “One to Watch” artist on NPR’s Acoustic Cafe, as well as being on a Performing Songwriter Magazine Best of DIYs compilation CD. His music has been featured on Car Talk, and TV shows Dr. Phil, The Rachel Ray Show, Jag, and All My Children. His latest CD, “Born Too Late,” is being played on over 300 NPR and Adult Album Alternative radio stations, including steady rotation at XM Satellite Radio’s Bluesville and The Village. Bob is a three-time recipient of the ASCAP Plus Award for independent musicians. Keyboard Magazine, in their recent feature article about Bob, said: “Bob Malone doesn't just accompany himself on piano. He supports his singing with pulsating, roaring keyboard work that grabs you and shakes you until you cry for mercy.”

Blues Review Magazine says: “Take Tom Waits, Steely Dan, Dr. John, Louis Armstrong, and Harry Connick Jr., put ‘em in a drink shaker, add sweetener, and pour out Bob Malone…a bluesy streak runs through these songs, and Malone, like Mose Allison, uses blues as a stop on the way to the jazz, big band, and elegant pop music that fuels his muse….Nimble playing and smart, sassy lyrics. There’s plenty to like here.
