II remember The first organized group called "Funny Dunbells". The memberz were The Kimbles, James, Andre, Carlos, Ingrid, and That man, known as my dad, ( God Bless his soul forever) playing guitar to some Elvis tunes as we recorded it just for fun.. Funny Dumbells evolved to a new Era of " Nonsence Musiq. "
Funky Dundells" arose with me on drums, James the oldest on guitar, and Carlos the yougest of the boyz on keyboardz. Mack Wright second string Guitar, Stevie Byrd 3 strin lead. Earl Curry on bass guitar. The hit was " Make It Junkie" an remake of James Brown's "Make It Funky".I remember carryin Instrument to back yard parties and different small spotz. Funky Dundell and the wicked style of James Kimble became twisted with the Funk and
"Aviator Funk" Took the Kimble Broz to a whole different level.. The music started to make sence. With Rick Williams and Willis Stix. Bass and one of the badest guitar players i've seen yet. I think the year was 1980. I remember Rick Introduced the Kimble Broz to a family that every one knew how to play an instrument. Even the younger girls played flutes. I remember playin with that family in front of a crown at a carnival
."Oscar and Debra " I remember being our first Managers. They attended shows with the band. " Lasonya Parker first female artist in the band, and mother of my 2 boyz "Andre Jr, and Dav Lee.. New member " Ken Buck "became part of the funk. Our first road manager was King Ratt. He was a sharp well dressed, smooth talkin , UGLY MOTHA SOMTHIN.. I rememeber performin at "Triple 9's lounge on Warren Ave on the eastside of Detroit when I was too young to drink alcohol. Ecorse lounge I think was one of our best crowd shows. Aviator Funk ,Funky Dundell and the twisted funk mind of James Kimble and the Kimble Broz started to bloom. New memberz" Ken Buck", Wilfred Fielding, Jerome Mobily, I learned quickly from my oldest sibling and began a journey of my own." Maximum " became a household name and blended perfect with James Ideaz. Maximum music was ruggit and mysteriuos, New memberz came " Tyrone Matthews, and that was the birth of the Fincan Language design to confuse other or thow them off of what we were plottin. Created by Andre Kimble and Tyrone Matthews and James Kimble.
The Pump Boys arose from that era wearin blue Levis and a t-shirt. And can't for get the suitcase. Maximum recorded such songz as "Maximum World", " Maximum comin to get You". and many more. Darren Henderson and his brother Terry came on the scene and Maximum became " sick" Makin songz like " $u*K my &(^# and Kiss my Azz" The Album " Fincan Egie was born.
Tyrone went solo with his Label Tylin Records and recorded the single " Around the World" with His wife Linda Canonn kids and neices. With the help of The Kimble Broz. Cartoon style and the funk stayed with The Kimble Broz thur the 80'z. Even in the early 90'z when funk was so-called dead,we alwayz kept it alive with costumes and habadasherie attire, Wigz etc. We stayed Funky..We met Troy Heard a Keyboard player and singer, and blend with him on many projectz, but he wasn't really part of the group. But I do remember Troy introducin the Kimble Bros to a Motown back up member who went solo and was workin on his own project and needed background singers. The song was called " The Door is Always Open".
B.O.M. ( Brothers on a Mission) Rapp funk group with new memberz Tony Jackson, and Vinson Allen Thomas ( Tech 9 ) Smith who never got the chance to perform with the group, but created over 100 songz from " Monsters In the Closet", "Boing"..collaboration with James Kimble.Brothers on a Mission performed at such venues like the MasQurade lounge, and UAW Hall In Detroit performin songz like " Power Bind", and " Straight Ahead". A sample from Jimi Hendrix. Carlos Kimble the youngest of the Broz always stayed in and out of studios with the latest equipment, and became the front runnin producer of the group from there. Thomas ( Tech 9) Smith and James Kimble formed Rappadelic. Rap mix with Funk. Costumes andthe whole get up. I even started wearin stuff over my head. Maximum rose to a whole new Level with the blend of Tony Jackson and recorded the album " Spiritual Evidence". Mid 90'z Rappadelic started peformin at venues. Enterin contests and winning, and buildin the style of Rappadelic. Performin on stage
Rappadelic: The Kimble Broz, Troy Heard, Tony Jackson, Vinson Allen, Vernon Gordon, Symbolic, H. I. D, Brian Upshaw, Ricard( lil Nutty), Cyristal Stokes, Momar Moore and the Moore family, Randy Braidly, Harry ( Booshoe) Saunders, Troy T-Maximum ) Stubblefeild, Trina Torres, Auther (Fella Felle ) George, Walter Kendrix, Moniniqe Cannon, Antonio ( Cold Piece ) Parish, Lonnie ( Knawlitch the King) Moore, Pistol "P' Tauhid ( Larocko Tee) Kelly, Lil Stevie, Lil Bone, Shorty Smooth, Gibson, Chanette Young,The Next Genration of B.O.M. .During this era we joined with Piccollo Productions and begin doin shows every other week. " Gino Washignton T.V. shows on cable, " The Variety Show" ran by Sun Coast Entertainment. Maximum Rappadelic was in full swing performin at such venues like Club Pinta, Ren-Cen Club, Light guard Armery, Ballduck Park, State Fair Grounds with Candy Productions. Bell Ill Band Shell, Slammers lounge, C-Notes, Ice Productions,346 Club,Grand Quaters, and many more. We also began workin with the like s of George Clinton Jr. Frog and The Black Planets., Detroit Most Wanted, Awesome Dre, Smiley, Awol, Kaos and Mystro, Skizo from Flint Mich. Irv Ski, another Funsta for life who added a lot of flavor to the group. Maximum Rappadelic was the name. Still perfomin at shows untill the mid 90'z the split up of the group, but eveeryone was on solo projects. Troy Heard and cousin started Boys Down Records with a "s". Troy cousin was killed later that year before they really could do anything with the label. So Troy decided to released his cd " Gansta Beats" under the label Boys Down. That sent Rappadelic on a Quest to record their cd. We spent countless hours and spent lots of money and didn't recieve great treatment by some sound recorders. Never Got the chance to releashed the hit single " Once You Hear Our Funk " That was the group lead song. I went solo also. Miguel Reynolds became part of the delic crew along with Symbolic and H.I.D. Maximum still was kickin strong. I met Nabih Kizy . And since the name Boys Down became a household name, I decided to keep it, but flip it with "z's". Boyz Down Recordz. Which caused a lil disruptions between players in the group. I had other Ideas.
Boyz Down Recordz first artist was a blind Mc name Kado. Kado's cd So much Pain in the Dark" sold over 500 copies in a few weeks. ( thats pretty good for local playerz). See Nabih Kizy family owned the corner store. S.T.S. Market. A new era began with Boyz Down. My sons were older and rappin. Dav Lee introduce Lokey to me amd it begun. Thur Lokey I worked with , Mass One, Big Greedy, Thur them iI worked with, Governor Chroinic, Elow, Rocco, Madd Patton, No-Face, Laban, Labronte', Monk-Slo, Spence Fraily and family. Boyz Down Production evoled and O.D. was born. workin with Brothers in Buisness. Big Boss Records, The Booth Bros, Mike Move, and Sorie Records. I recorded Big Boss first Cd with the hit single " Laughin at Cha". I think this was in the year 1995 a lil before the lokey era. All the while Dav Lee was writin everyday learnin his style. Killanomi arose. The members: Dav Lee, Andre Jr. and Uncle Jason Cutts( youngest brother of O.D..
N.W.B " Nation Wide Ballaz. New memberz to the Boyz Down family. Randy, and Mike, Dav Lee school buddies, which recorded their cd" Nation Wide Ballaz". That was 1997. Mr. Kado was on his 2nd Cd that was never released because of other projects. At this point Boyz Down had became a studio, recordin their own music. Lokey solo cd was released "Lokey's World" in 1999 along with Enough is Enough the first Boyz Down complilation featurin all Boyz Down Artist.
Maximum Highonz was born. The name was given to me by Nabih Kizy. Somthing else was brewin inside of me.. Not from this world, but from another. Highonz became my alter ego., and not of this World called Earth. Maximum Highonz began this personal journey thur O.D'z mind and pull evrything out of me. Never writin nothin down on paper. Boyz Down complilation 2 was released in 2000
And at the same time Dav Lee solo Project was in the makin." Who Wannna Battle Me?".
