Well it is what it is, you either like it or you don't that's all I'm saying. No need to be a jackass.

Objectively it's not that it's not depressing thats the problem it's the fact that they took an expressive masterpiece of a genius and reinterpreted it in a way that the REAL artist would have seen as a desecration. All I can say is F*** Dave Grohl. However in my honest opinion it's a vomitously sugary 90's pop sound trying to ride on the elephant 6 wave but nice job trying to defend your teeny bopper anthem.

Just because it's not filled with teen angst doesn't make it shit. They turned something depressing into something happy. They took a different approach to the song that no one else has before, and it turned out great.

Balls perhaps, but the means does not justify the end. They took a soulful and beautifully birthed song and wrung the emotion out of it perverting it into a putrid 90's pop piece of shit with only the chorus retaining any of the original emotion necessary to any real theme. They ignored the musically historical and crucial message behind the song, preferring to play up the sarcasm as shallow optimism in order to brazenly vomit up this putrid abomination. Polymorphic spree should be executed King Robespierre style to give them a little time to contemplate their transgression.

I'm so happy 'cause today
I've found my friends, they're in my head
I'm so ugly, that's OK
'Cause so are you, broke our mirrors
Sunday mornin' is every day
For all I care and I'm not scared
Light my candles in a daze
'Cause I've found God

Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!

I'm so lonely, that's OK
I shaved my head and I'm not sad
And just maybe I'm to blame
For all I've heard but I'm not sure
I'm so excited, I can't wait
To meet you there and I don't care
I'm so horny, that's OK
My will is good

Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!

I like it, I'm not gonna crack
I miss you, I'm not gonna crack
I love you, I'm not gonna crack
I kill you, I'm not gonna crack
I like it, I'm not gonna crack
I miss you, I'm not gonna crack
I love you, I'm not gonna crack
I kill you, I'm not gonna
Crack

its not comparable to the original Nirvana version. The two songs are apples and oranges, with different feels and different takes on the lyrics. I do like this version, and I like the real one, but they different genres, I couldn't say this or that is better.
