Episode 39 (SAIMONO is COMPLETE)

I skipped lunch to time this episode today. Don't you feel loved?

Anyhow, it's finally finished! 2008 had been an inordinately tough and busy year for me (hospitals, tests and graduations), so that's probably why it took so long for this project to be completed. I might try and upload the rest of the episodes on imeem again.

And now for the thank yous.

Although you pulled a MIA on us, thank you, DreaM, for everything you've done for this project. I couldn't have managed on my own and you remain the fastest timer I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Thank yous to calwyn, who joined us later in the project and saved the day when I had my hands full.

Even though this started out as a favor to a friend (she ended up just watching and having me explain beside her ^^;), thank yous to everyone who have been supporting this project. There has been unavoidable drama and tempers running short, but I hope it was all worth it in the end. Perhaps when I come back to watch this again in a year or so, I'll enjoy the anime much more. Who knows, perhaps, I'll be able to own the actual DVDs by then.

Anyways, didn't get a chance to wish everyone a Happy new years, so I'll wish everyone an exciting Valentine's Day instead. For everyone, who'll be spending it alone this year...no worries, I'll give you Ryuuki

SaiMonoII 38 is here

Okay, so the translations were completed last November, but calwyn was and is too busy with university enrollment to time them.
In my holiday mood, I figured she would get to them when she had time and didn't interfere. Anyways, that's pretty much the status of things in the last few months; hence the delay in the release of the last two episodes.

However, people have been asking and asking over on youtube, so I've decided to time the last two episodes myself to get it over with and not leave everyone in a state of suspension.

So for those who are still following this series, here is episode 38.

SaiM2: Change of Plans

Imeem...not only does it take IMPOSSIBLY long to upload a video on, it also deleted everything I uploaded yesterday.

In other words, I won't be uploading it here after all. I will make an announcement very shortly. Unfortunately, it will probably be a Chinese streamsite or google...hopefully no one will have any trouble loading the videos.

Also, please refrain from using the full name of the show when you comment as it still makes this blog very 'searchable' as one of the top results for subtitles. Since that is the case, I had to delete some comments. Use SM or SaiM or something.

Saimono II Taken Off Crunchyroll

I have received a dozen or so messages regarding this matter. So I'm addressing it here, since there's no point answering the same questions over and over again.

Anyways, I take this as a sign that people (with some minor exceptions) were able to respect my request that the videos stay at certain streaming sites. Thank you. ^^ In gratitude, I have decided on imeem as the next upload site. Hopefully, it'll be low-profile enough to stay on here. I am uploading them under the name SaiM2 to make it less search-able on the general search engines. I will begin uploading from Ep. 37 and work backwards. If you have any objections or access problems, please let me know.

Episode 36 was a recap episode. Apparently, someone else got to it before I did, so I do not have the completed episode as yet. I do know the subber and she has contributed to the translations of Ep. 38, so I will try to get in touch with her and see if I can get the file from her. If not, I'll simply time my translated script for it.

In addition, I did manage to pull together enough time and concentration to translate Ep. 38. *sigh* I do hate leaving people hanging after all. Translations are mostly completed (some uncertainties...have to research), and has been sent off for calwyn to time.

I have also been changing tags and titles on this blog to SaiM2. With the licensing of SaiM2, it's best not to be too visible. While I was making the changes, I was also able to go through some comments that I have not had the chance to read, as I tend to come to imeem only twice or thrice a month. Some of you have been very sweet. Thanks again.

Questions about uploading to a different file host or in a torrent pack...it would be nice if someone else would offer to take up this task. If have the episodes and you're feeling an overwhelming love for your SaiM fans, please let me know you wouldn't mind doing this.

Saimono Queries

Hello Saimono fans,

I'm updating here instead of on Youtube because of the weird new functions that aren't working for me.

First off, no, I do not know where to download Ep. 36-37. In fact, I had no idea they were released. But it's all good, as it means less work.
Yay for me! ~

As for Ep. 38-39...I know there are only 2 episodes left, but I don't feel motivated enough to translate them. I wasn't really a Saimon fan to begin with and was just subbing it as a favor.

So just giving a shout-out: anyone interested in subbing them, please go ahead and do so.
There's got to be Saimono fans out there who can read Chinese or understand Japanese.
If a non-fan can sub over 30 episodes, I'm sure a true fan's 'love' for this series will motivate them enough to sub two episodes.

Unfortunately, until someone offers, I guess everyone will just have to wait for me to slowly wade through them. If no one will step-up to the plate, I will pull myself together and translate them eventually.

Anyhow, I apologize. Not meaning to leave you all stranded, but I've got other fandom concerns...like my Shinhwa boys leaving for the army T____T
You may wait a few months more for Ep. 38-39...but I've got to wait 5 whole years (that's half a decade) before they comeback...let me soak them in while they're still here.

SaiM2 UPDATE

Just an update on what's going on:

Well, my original timer is MIA, so, from ep. 33 onwards, I have a new timer, calywn. Please give her a warm welcome!

I am busy with more family matters and calywn is a beginner, so releases may not be that quick. I'm afraid all of you leechers out there will just have to take what you get. Yes, 'real life' is a real sucker to a fansubber. In 'real life', if you tell ppl you fansub in your free time, the most common reaction you get is probably a 'Are you stupid?' look...so do understand our pain we 'real life' takes priority.

At any rate, if any of you are interested in a semi-live action of SaiMono while you wait for episode releases, I suggest watching 再生緣 (Zai Sheng Yuan) a.k.a. 孟丽君传奇 (Meng Li Jun Chuan Qi). Not the TVB version, but the one starring Li Bing Bing (The white witch in Forbidden Kingdom). I remember watching it a year or two back and liked it. It did start a little slowly, but got better and better. None of the characters are super stupid or naive either. Depending on your POV, it might be better than SaiMono. It's set in the same period as SaiMono and has the same government set up.

I am busy (more sick family and visitors), so this may be the last news update for a while. Check back for episode releases as I won't be announcing them when I release them. Translations are done up to Ep. 37 and 34 is being timed.

IT'S FINALLY DONE !!!

This drama turned out to be one of the more amusing K-dramas I've watched ^^
Which was lucky and made the subbing process more enjoyable.
Funny, and a bit impossible at times, but that's why we escape from the everyday possible into dramas, right?
It was not too heavy on the melodrama and romance. A hospital was involved, but in a fun way.
It's also one of those dramas that the crew and actor/actresses seemed to have had a lot of fun filming.
The last two episodes been pretty exciting.
Other than Ju Yeon's slightly awkward crush, I loved every moment of this.
Going to miss the mom with the pan, Choi Seon and the PMS song, Chief Yang threatening to poke eyes out, Choi Kang and his oh so wonderful evil laugh, Ju Yeon's adorableness, Ellis's sexiness, Choi Kang's sidekicks, the computer nerd, the self-defense unnie, the super surgeon with some serious family problems, and even Kang Team Leader's fixed statue expression.
Not to mention the OST was more than awesome.

I learnt a lot subbing this series.
Hope you guys did too.
