Mr.“Actually! Factually!” born Sheldon Smith, in Kingston Jamaica, musical wheels have been turning long before 2007, the year that without being signed to an official recording deal, Deva Bratt delivered two #1 international hits, “Bungle a Gyal” and “Bag a Talking/Gussy Clarke”. However in 2008 the Deejay’s career was challenged with ridicule and controversy. Like a phoenix rising out of the ashes, Deva Bratt continues overcome adversity and maintains skill, star status, popularity, and respect.
Deva Bratt founded "Portmore Empire" along with “Portmore Emperor”, Vybz Kartel aka Addi Di Teacha with artiste Nuclear, Shawn Storm, Doza Medicine, Black Rhyno, First Lady Omeil, and the late great Craig Dennis.
Deva Bratts entertainment career started as a dancer. This was more of a hobby, but he managed to win a few trophies while performing at local competitions and shows. Between 2003 and 2005 Deva was a part of a deejay crew named Highlanders. In 2006 Deva mastered his war factory flow, and initiated a lyrical war with dancehall artist Aidonai, Busy Signal and Munga. This was at the same time that Deva lead out the Portmore Empire. While the Aidonai war has ceased, the war between Deva, Munga, Busy Signal, and new contender Flexx, continues.
