After our discussion about Vimeo's anti-fanvid stance, Youtube's warpath, and Imeem's new limit on uploading vids: we pretty much came to a conclusion that livejournal may be the safest place
for vidders to share their vids.

So I created a new LJ community: called Vidding_Elite. There are many vidding communities on livejournal already; but I wanted to create a community that was more than a place for random vidders to pimp their vids. I wanted to create a vidding community made up of close group of members who actually get to know each other, share their vids, discuss vidding, and participate in vidding activities (contests, chat sessions, etc).

So if you just moved here from Youtube and are looking for an alternative place where you can share your vids, maitain a social network with your favorite vidders or vidders you'd like to get to know better... OR ... if you've been part of the livejournal vidding community for awhile and would be interested in joining then please do.

The community is members-only so we know who is reading our posts, participating in our activities, and watching our vids. However anyone (vidder or just a "fan of vids") can join, all you have to do is fill out the questionnaire in the welcome post and then your request to join the community will be approved. This intro post is required for all members so that we can get to know each other right from the beginning. I think the community will be a lot of fun and our videos will definitely be a lot safer this way (sharing through Livejournal, via a password-protected Vimeo). Of course, I'm still going to be using Imeem but I just thought that this would be a nice alternative as well.
