I'm just starting out in the DJ world, after wasting time thinking about doing it...Loosing my dad gave me that kick up the ass, i'm now doing it ;0) I desperately wanted to do the Technics DJ Academy course, since 2000...took out a loan recently to do it, went for one private lesson, where i was elated and devastated haha. I was told that i didn't really need to waste my cash on the course, just get out there and get experience, as i had the tools and ability.(not saying i was perfect though ) So here i am, hopefully improving my skills everytime i play, and i'm loving it. Still feels funny when people call me a DJ, as i just feel like Gem lol.
I am due to host a night to raise cash for Breast Cancer Care, which i'm really looking forward to. I always said, when i eventually start DJing, i want to hold a night as my friends mum passed away, and a member of my extended family has breast Cancer...so why not do something fun,to raise money for a very worthy cause.Take action for weapons of mass DESTRACTION ;0)
I have an eclectic taste, and many influences, from the last 12 years. First fell in love with the whole scene back in 1996 when i first saw Paul Oakenfold play at the super club Cream, and i still love that place to this day.
I love to play Prog House and Prog Breaks, House, Electro, twisted Tech-House and Minimal Tech.
i do have a HUGE trance collection on vinyl, but that only gets played when i'm feeling nostalgic, in the wee small hours..although i still love to go watching my fav Trance DJ's.
I love Zabiela's sick skills on the effectors and mixer, i've never seen anyone use them like that! I do have many influences that you may here in my mixes.
Only recently played my 1st live gig, and i can not wait to play out again...i looove my decks haha. This is definitely what fingers were made for hehe ;0) x
So, it might be difficult to get my name out there, but i don't care, i'm just enjoying playing, and everytime i get positive feedback, it makes it soooo worth while!
