THE TEAM TAKER Paloma Belara was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and gives credit to New York City for developing her business savvy state of mind. With an education in Fashion Merchandising Management and Marketing, her entrance into the music industry came at a time when the playing field was shaken by mp3’s and ipod’s. A brief position at a digital distribution company gave Paloma the opportunity to attend the Midem Music Conference in Cannes, France, and a new sense of determination to pursue a career in music on her own terms. Paloma has since then taken on artist management, publicity, promotions, distribution, and licensing, providing a well rounded background of the music business that has seamlessly tied into her fashion/retail roots - providing clients with over 10 years of experience. Paloma also incorporates education with youth into her work, and is currently creating PR/Marketing workshops to bring into the classroom, as well as mentoring and partnering with several youth organizations. With the Bay Area being home base, Paloma’s efforts are focused on building the awareness of independent businesses through publicity and marketing with her company, Papa Lo Down - Providing artists and entrepreneurs with a focused and qualitative service to further their careers.
THE BIZ Papa Lo Down is a Bay Area based Public Relations and Marketing Consulting service founded by Paloma Belara in 2008 - to introduce emerging artists into the independent music industry, as well as consult entrepreneurs from all creative backgrounds in their PR/Marketing strategy. Through qualitative campaigns and partnerships with various media outlets, taste-makers, and DJ’s, every project is well planned and executed to help build a solid foundation for each client’s business. *PR/Marketing workshops are currently being created to educate and empower artists, entrepeneurs, and students. THE BLOG The Papa Lo Down blog is a resource for independent artists who are self-managing their careers, through tips, advice, and insight from the perspective of an independent Public Relations and Marketing Consultant.
