"Folk singers aren't bred, they just arrive," ... so said the prolific folk music writer, A. L. Lloyd. And that - in a nutshell - is how Dover's most promising young singer emerged. His name is Bill Beer. He's 19 and he lives at 89 Manor Road.Bill came along to Dover's Foc'sle Club one Friday night in June and said he wanted to sing. Rather nervously he climbed on stage and tuned his guitar before a capacity audience. Then, suddenly, everyone knew that here was a singer of promise. And Bill has been impressing audiences weekly at the Foc'sle ever since.Bill, an electronics technician at AVO, has been working hard at the guitar for three years. He feels this is necessary groundwork for any good folk entertainer."
