Compassion Day - Restore the Republic

I woke up this morning! ouch! it was 6am ... hmmm ... okay I jumped out of bed thinking I am going for a ride on my bike!

Gathering my head-set for my mobile phone, my socks and my stack-hat - out the door I went.

I was listening to some facts that were being transmitted over the air. My god. There are about 680,000 (don't quote me, I have done much since hearing that news!!!) yes, 680,000 not-for-profit organizations globally!

So which can we en-trust our investment in? apparently the Wall Street Journal did a survey on this number of organizations and came up with a top 10 Investment Plans. "Compassion" was one of them. Compassion Day is celebrated here in Australia today. The aim is to get 1,500 children out of poverty in Haiti which is a destination off the coast of the USA in the Dominican Republic. So now the re-enforcement is in - I understand that this organisation is trustworthy (after all that is "all" I care about in this instance).

So herewith my post for now. I am on this post because it is important to share, especially so to know that research has been done on these organizations to make sure they do "do" what they claim to do.

Sponsor a child. Think of it this way. I told my kids this morning (when I got back) - when Mummy gets a "paid" position in the community then we shall "adopt" a child and make that child part of our family. We shall invest in the life of another. My little one is very excited about the prospect (considering she doesn't want me to go into the workforce!). So this opportunity will make a difference to the way she thinks about "why" mummy goes to work. Not just to support herself - but to share with others who need the support in their lives.

Please see this link ... see these little faces that "need" us because "we" can make a "difference" in their life. It is the change Mother Earth wants to see.
