Dear Friends and fellow imeem members and posters,
To be quite honest, I no longer know what to do here anymore. Sukey, my new nick and incarnation, rarely posts now. I had such high hopes for that new page--lots of poetry in blogs, quite a few picture albums, and, of course, great music and great playlists. As it has turned out, though, I rarely come here these days, and yesterday, when I logged on as elfyie to remove all the 30-second snippets from my playlists, well, I'm still not sure what happened, but something just took away all the heart and soul I had poured into this site. And I did pour heart and soul into imeem.
I want to thank all my fellow songlovers who so graciously took the time to post lyrics to so many songs on here. And I thank you, too, for being a part of this community; for loving music and wanting to share it with others.
I think I give up, y'all. When imeem shreds my post of Beethoven's Fur Elise to 30 seconds--and I certainly wrote a comment about that on its page--well, to me at least, that is, if not the end, certainly close to it. I actually have tears as I write this, thinking back on the good friends I made here, the songs we shared, how we tried even to *best* one another with our posts! [rueful smile] It's not even been a full year, yet an eon has passed.
I guess I write this here, on elfyie's page rather than Sukey's page, because elfyie was so active: 999 music posts. Imeem helped me through a major depressive episode, when I basically was good for nothing more than searching for ultra-cool graphics and posting music nearly 24/7. You know, just like everyone else here, all I wanted was to post music, for myself and for others' pleasure, make nice playlists, and have a good time. Sharing some joy, you know. In the process, I did make good friends, a small group with which I hung. I don't know if this is goodbye or not, but I just don't feel it's worth the effort anymore to post cool music like Chaka Khan, with or without Rufus, or Laura Nyro. I'm especially proud of getting artists on imeem who rarely saw the light of day. Before I came, there was no Laura Nyro on this site. Now there is, and no longer just my posts either, but she's become a 30-second artist.. And you guys still don't like The Jon Spencer Blues Xplosion, though I tried so hard to get that band an audience on here. Heh.
I ramble, as usual. Who knows what Sukey will do? But we all know what imeem will continue doing and, imnsho, by doing so, imeem will implode.
Best Wishes, y'all. Take good care.
