Everytime the music player changes so does the order of my songs! Does anyone know why?
The new music player is better in that you can organize your songs by #, title, artist, length, but the player is still too big.

Jeremy: Can you send us more details to the problem you're seeing with the order of your songs? How do you reproduce this?

Some other feedback....move the shuffle, repeat, 30 sec "buttons" down next to the ebay and download "buttons" so its easier to control the player.
Also, why does the imeem logo appear each time a player is opened? Is this really necessary? It slows down the time tolisten to music...I imagine this is a placeholder for future advertisements

(The # of plays font is a bit too small looks like a 6 or 7px font...Try a 9-11.5px)
Also...
@Jeremy Fisher The new music player is better in that you can organize your songs by #, title, artist, length, but the player is still too big. // I imagine this is a placeholder for future advertisements
Those functions were already in the last one. Its an improvement of that last bulky, metallic one. Everything is sleek, and the buttons are excellent and less handicapped than the last. They seem to fit into the main aesthetics of the website. It wouldn't seem fair to complain about the same thing twice. Sort of double jeopardy'ish...
About the advertisements, it couldn't be a placeholder. The ads are overlapped on the player itself. So by the little logo loading, it only shows the branding and Imeem saying, "Hello, its us!"

Also, the font size for the number of plays is set by the Profile owner. It is not universal and varies differently in each Profile page.

Player looks a bit better, but the fact they changed the embed size bugs me.
It went from 80px height to 110px height. I run a music blog that uses Imeem HEAVILY. Now I've gotta go through nearly every post and re-do the embeds because they switched up the size and it renders funny. It's going to take a good 3 plus hours. I'm a bit hesitant to do this because whats to say Imeem won't change the player again?
I wish the good folks at Imeem would have made it so that when a embed request comes in for the 80px height it would have used the older player. Oh well, still a great service!
**EDIT** Whoops, just realized this is for the PLAYLIST player, I was talking about the individual song player.

THUMBS UP
The new imeem player for www.plentyoffish.com looks better than before, because the player skin stands out more and the color scheme works well with that particular dating site. I wish I could adjust the size, especially the width, but it is not that important.
THUMBS UP
The new "now loading" graphic on the new music player is very nice to have. I like seeing how long it is going to be before the player shows up. If we didn't have that people might think that particular area on the page was meant to be empty. For some reason it seems that the new player loads slower than the old one. I think this is a result of of the "now loading" icon and the new graphics.
THUMBS UP
I like how alternate songs have different colors on the new music player. One row is light gray. The next white. And so on, etc.
THUMBS DOWN
I hate the color BLUE on the new music player.
I think if I could change everything that is BLUE (scrollbars, selected song, song information, all logos) to my personal preference color choice, I would be much more satisfied. I would like to be able to use html color coding like #000000 or #EEEEEE or #880000.
SO . . . . . . . . . .
I miss the old player because it was simple but effective, but I think I can make this one work if I change everything else on my myspace to give it more dimension. The problem now is that all my myspace tables that I custom made have a plain white background with plain black text.... and now this new music player has a sophisticated 3 dimensional look that makes everything else look stupid.
I hope you will consider providing us the color change options in the near future.
EDIT : Yeah, this music player is definitely too slow. I have the param set on "autolow" and it takes waaaaay too long to load.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOOOOOOO SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Is it possible to customize the colors again with this updated player, when it is embedded on a page?
And it makes my browser very slow, and takes my cpu up high ... Not good things I imagine
Maybe it would be a good idea that people can choose which player they want.
The new one has it's good features, and the old one too ...

Socialr: To edit the general font in your Profile page, go to your Homepage. In the top menu bar, select "Edit Profile" followed by "Profile Theme". On the left, click the "Edit Current Theme" link (if available). In the Theme Editor page, scroll to the "General Font Settings" blue box (at the bottom) and click the "Edit" link inside.
Destiny: To create a music playlist or to add songs to your existing playlist, navigate to the song you would like to add. Below the music player, click the "Playlist" link. You will have the option to add the song to a new or an existing playlist in your profile or group. To add more to a playlist or to create more playlists, just repeat these steps. To view all your playlists, navigate to your Profile page. Then click "Playlists" in your profile navigation bar. You will be able to sort through all the different types of playlists you've created by clicking the links on the right.
To customize the color in your embedded player, navigate to the media you want to embed. Below the player, copy the code in the "Embed" text box and paste it into a text editor (like Word, Wordpad, Notepad etc). To change the color of your playlist, you will need to add the following string to the embed code: param name="flashvars" value="backColor=000000&primaryColor=ffffff&secondaryColor=777777&linkColor=51A001" / (in brackets)
Each color value is listed (6 hex digits, leave off the #), seperated by an & character. To find other color codes, you can do a Google search for “HTML Color Codes”.
You must add the the 'FlashVars' parameter once as a below the tag and once as an attribute on the tag (this is for maximum cross browser compatibility). You can also change the width and height, but be sure to change it on both the object and embed tags.
Once you've completed this, copy the updated code to your other blog sites. Note: You cannot manually embed to all blog sites.
Thanks everyone for your feedback on our new player. We will take them into consideration for our future releases.

You can also automatically change the colors to the playlist by going to the media, then click MORE, then click "Link to or embed this song". Pick your color option, and if you want it to auto play/shuffle THEN copy the code. NOTE: if you're trying to add a playlist on LiveJournal [ http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml] you'll need to click the Embed Media button, then enter the code.

Hi guys,
Thank you for your feedback, I promise it doesn't go unnoticed.
For the color customization you actually just need to pay attention to 2 colors in your embed tag: backColor and linkColor, pass the desired hex value there and you'll be able to create some interesting color combinations.
Our apologies for freaking you out with the embed size changes, we now support 80 pixels height again. (Team Lyay.net: I REALLY hope you didn't spend 3 hours fixing your blog just yet!)
Keep all your comments flowing as that will be the only way we can make a better player that everyone will love.
Thanks again and enjoy your favorite music!

Thanks to everyone who has been posting feedback, you all keep us on our toes and let us know where we can improve! Brian Mclovin: When the player is loading, what icon do you see the longest? Does the percentage icon take a long time to reach 100% or does the "loading tracks" icon display for a very long time. We knew that this new player was going to be a bit larger than the old one so we tried everything we could to minimize the impact of the new size. For example, we used a technique that caches a lot of the libraries onto the client machine so that subsequent calls will be faster. We scrutinized a lot of code and optimized like crazy. We stand behind the new player and believe that it is a huge improvement, but we also know there's always room for improvement. As Daniel mentioned, we took feedback straight from these forums and incorporated it into this new release. With that in mind, please keep the feedback coming.

I just noticed that the old player is back again, and I am happy for that, because my webbrowser is much faster now.
I think that most embedded players are not the only thing embedded on a page, and using Flash.
I know you guys and gals put a lot of work into the new player, but for my taste it just demands too much from my pc.
Anyway, keep up the good work!

THANKYOU
To answer your question, yesterday morning it took about 2-3 minutes to load the player. This could be an exaggeration, but I didn't have a chance to time it.
It was the percentage icon that took so long to load, not the loading tracks icon.
At about 3pm, it started to not take so long to load. It still took a while though.
I wanted to say something in my prior message about liking the old player better, but I didn't want to make anyone mad and I wanted to offer constructive criticism.
But after everything, I see the old music player is back and I love it so much more. I think the old music player has reached almost perfection.
I can't think of anything I'd like to change on the old music player. Now that I know how to change the colors on it, I am 100% happy.
It loads almost instantaneously now too, so when someone goes to my myspace they hear a song right away.
THANKS FOR PUTTING THE OLD PLAYER BACK, but thankyou for the experience of showing me what else you are capable of.
I hope this old player stays for a very long time, or that we have the option of choosing between this one and a future revision.
Thanks for your time and concern.

I'm searching for songs, and the player gets stuck at 95%. I also tried FireFox 3, and it got stuck too. And sometimes the player load, and I want to add the song to the quicklist ... and my browser gets stuck ...

We have reverted all embedded players to the old player as we were experiencing some problems. Thanks for your understanding.
Cool Panama.com: What Operating System are you on? Are you on a wireless connection? What type of Internet connection do you have? Is the loading issue happening with all media on the imeem website and every time? Can you try streaming music from a different computer and let us know if you still see the problem?

Re: Imeem's New Playlist Muzik Player

Hi guys, me again.
From reading all messages on this particular forum, I have deduced that the new player is only gone temporarily. This means it will be back soon, once these problems get ironed out.
I want to re-iterate. Despite other people's excitement and must have attitude for this new player, I am really hoping you will still make the old one available to those who want to continue using it. I think the old player is 100% satisfactory. The new player, however, will never measure up to the old one for my personal needs and wants. Its interface is too complicated. Although I respect it's "new face" and its new features and its 3D realistic look, I really want to use the other player because it is simple and efficient and very well aesthetically designed.
So, I am here for any and all feedback you can possibly want. I don't know hardly anything about computers, but I am a practical realist that is very good when it comes to developing keen insights about anything. Just send me an email on here. I'll try to respond within 24 (or 48) hours. Give Mclovin a try.
I want to chime in and help others who have concerns. The old player is back and it loads well. It only takes about 5 seconds (or a little more) for it to start playing my first song. I have a crappy internet connection (Sprint wireless USB internet card) on a good computer. I am satisfied. BUT for a lot of people, they are none to happy with accessing the player on the actual imeem.com website. I can understand their frustration. The players on the www.imeem.com website are very similar if not the same as the new player that was available only so long ago. The "Stand Alone Player" can be considered in the same family. They do take a long time to load. If you notice there is a "now loading" icon... and it takes a while before it reaches the top. I believe that even on the fastest computers with the fastest internet speeds, it will take a while. My computer loads them all the way, after a while. If yours does not move past 95% it is possible that your cache is too full, or ur internet connection is crappy, etc. That is why some of the designers and moderators have asked you to provide more info about your computer access and to try accessing it from a different computer.

Recently my playlists won't skip to the next song after a song is completed. So I have to manually double-click each song after a song is played, it's rather annoying if I'm just trying to listen to some music while laying down/etc.....
I've cleared my cache, etc, still no workie. I will check to see if there's a newer version of Flash available, but if not, any other suggestions?
Thanks,

Sorry for my late answer,
The problem with the player not loading or getting stuck is solved.
I've noticed the new player is back again (I mean in embedded form on webpages) and it eats too much from my CPU. In Internet Explorer 7 about 60 and in FireFox 3 about 55.
And it takes quite long to load. I think it is because in the new player you can order the songs by title, album, time etc. So all that data has to be loaded in Flash. And if your playlist is long, that is a lot of data, and makes the pc quite slow.
My pc is not brand new, and I have Windows XP (SP2) with ADSL internet, not wireless. Normally I surf with ease and quite fast, but the new player is really slowing things down, I'm sad to say.
If you guys decide to keep this player, please keep it as small as possible (I don't mean actual size), so CPU and Cache don't rise through the roof. And please let us know how to change the colors of an embedded new player ... And please give us the oppurtunity to choose which player we can embed in webpages

To change color for your embedded music player, you will have to embed it manually. To do this, navigate to the song or music playlist you want to embed. Below the media, select Share -> Link to or embed this [song/music playlist]. You can choose from one of our preselected color combination and then copy the embed code in the provided box above. The code will update according to the color scheme you select. Then paste the embed code to your other blog site and you will see the applied color in your media player.

"Recently my playlists won't skip to the next song after a song is completed. So I have to manually double-click each song after a song is played, it's rather annoying if I'm just trying to listen to some music while laying down/etc..... "
I have the same problem ever since the player changed; the player goes to the next song but instead of automatically playing it, it just sits there until I click "play." I am using IE 6.0 & Flash 9,0,124,0 with a wireless broadband connection. Never had this problem with the old player. EDIT/ Tried again with wired connection, and same problem.
I also have a problem with certain songs not uploading. I have been able to upload some, but others will have the status bar go all the way to full, then say "All of your files have failed to load." I have tried them multiple times on different days with the same result. Is this due to licensing issues for certain songs, or...? Everything I've uploaded successfully or couldn't upload is in .wma format.

Yeah, my browser freezes too. I've given the new embedded Flash player the tag "quality=medium" instead of "high", but that also doesn't help much. The new player is just too big.
But I still want to thank Imeem for their services

i learned in my communication handbook that when someone says something, you should usually reply.
this could be done with "prompting" to get someone to keep talking, "questioning" to get more facts and details, "paraphrasing" so you can tell whether you understood what was said or not, "supporting" to show expressions of care, concern, affection, or interest, "analyzing", "advising", and "judging" (which needs to be constructive)...
you have chosen to do none of them. it's like talking to a wall.
i have no idea what a forum board is for, if NO ONE listens and no one talks.
i really want to be able to still use the old imeem player, but not one single person involved in the making of the player has given me any idea if that is possible.
as one guy named ITOONS said.. "it has a robotic look"
if you don't listen, and you don't reply, and you are hellbent on doing anything and everything you want to do without paying attention to users feelings and interests.... then i guess i wont be posting here anymore.

Seriously? As if it didn't take long enough to load already... seriously? Love imeem but I can't stand the new player - not only is it a step down in terms of its functionality, but I'm not too thrilled with the new look either. Eeesh! I'm already trying to find a new site that's an alternative to imeem.
Anyone know of any others? I heard Pandora is really good but I haven't tried it yet. There's gotta be some other site out there that has a quicker loading mp3 player that you can embed in your site, right? Help!

HI
In my first message I offered constructive criticism. I think I was the only one who offered details and comments on every single thing about the new player... all the PROS and all the CONS
A little later, I discussed my true feelings and what I really felt about the new player.
ONCE AGAIN, the old player is back.
ONCE AGAIN, I am thrilled because I like the old player a trillion, a quadrillion times better than the new one.
ONCE AGAIN, I wish you would make both accessible so we have a CHOICE.
But if I had to choose, once again, I'd would - without any hesitation in my mind - choose the old one.
The new robotic looks suks. Bottom line. I did like that loading icon (I wish there was a loading icon on the old one that was gray or customed color and didn't take much memory or speed)
