Help! I can't listen to IMEEM music files anymore.
Posted Feb 12, 2008 at 9:26 PM
Hello to any readers--I'm Lauren.
The problem that I'm having involves my inability to listen to any more tracks on IMEEM.COM. Whenever I click on a music track to play, it simply will not function. I've tried updating my Flash Player and even restoring my computer to previous settings, but nothing is working. I need help!
The tracks don't function in either Internet Explorer or my AOL browser. Can anybody offer help, advice, or a SOLUTION?
Thanks!

Lauren, When you try to play music, do you see it loading in the music player? What Operating System do you have? Can you successfully play videos on imeem? To verify the version of Flash that you currently have, please click the following link: http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ imeem requires the latest Flash player (9.0.115.0) to play media. Please also make sure the volume control is turned up in the media player. Last, please keep in mind that if you have 2 imeem players playing at the same time then the current one will continue to play. You will need to manually press the play button in the other player to start it. If you continue to have this issue, can you send us the URL to one of the songs that you're trying to play? We will look further into it from our side. Irene

I have the same problem over here. When i try to play a playlist it just plays a weird sound at the begining of each track but no song...
This happens with Opera and Firefox (latest updates).
I'm runnning MS Windows XP Pro - SP2 (+all updates). I also use Norton 360 and Ad-Aware.

We apologize but we do not support Opera at this time. To use the imeem website we require the following: -Internet Explorer 6/7, Firefox 1.5+, Safari 2.0+ -The latest version of Flash (9.0+) http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ -JavaScript Enabled http://www.tranexp.com/win/JavaScript-enabling.htm -Cookies Enabled http://www.imeem.com/howto/howtoenablecookies.aspx -Pop-up blockers disabled -Ad-blocking extensions disabled If you do not meet these requirements, you may not be able to experience imeem to its fullest potential. Please also make sure if you have any anti-spyware software installed that it is not blocking imeem. If you continue to have this issue, try streaming media from imeem on a different computer. Let us know if the problem continues. Does this happen with all media or only this particular playlist? Can you send us the URL to this playlist in question?

I have such problems too! I cannot play songs on IMEEM now. When I visit a blog with songs from IMEEM in it, the songs just load but does not play. Why is this so? I didn't have this problem until a week ago or so! I need help! Not only that, I can't play any song on the internet. All the songs just load but they don't play at all!

Stella,
Is this happening in both the imeem website and for embedded imeem players? What is your system configuration? What web browser and version are you using? Are you behind a firewall? Can you stream videos from the imeem website?

Hi,
I'm Juyan. Whenever I got to play a song or a video on imeem.com, it won't play. It won't even show the player box (you can't see the play button or the volume control--it's just blank and you can see the background image). However, if it is embedded to somebody's blog or the imeem webpage is displayed in another browser like Netscape...it works! I'm using Windows XP and Firefox 3.0. This all started when I upgraded Firefox. I already have my popup block disabled.
Thanks...

What web browser are you using? Can you try using a different browser or different computer? Some users in the past who had similar issues tried disabling their Norton Anti-virus and that helped. Please also take a look at the following forum for suggestions: http://www.imeem.com/feedback/forums/NGF9CtIY/Uabwse26/firefox_streaming_issues/Let us know if the problem still exists.

Adblock++ is the solution. You have to completely uninstall the old Adblock for it to work...just disabling it won't work. I don't know why.
thanks a lot guys.

This is a reply to Stella TZH. I had the same problem with imeem loading, but then nothing plays. I uninstalled flash player, reinstalled it, restarted my comuter, and still the problem persisted. I even added the AdBlockPlus and disabling it on imeem, but nothing changed.
But then (on Mozilla Firefox), I clicked on tools, options, and content, and where it says "Block Pop-Up Windows" had been checked. I unchecked it, and now imeem loads the songs and plays them like they would normally do. I hope this works for you.

I seem to be having the same problem Stella had... .I can no longer hear any kind of audio on the internet!! It happened all of a sudden. One second I was listening to Imeem and the next song I tried to play it stopped working. Songs on Myspace pages don't even play. I don't need to update anything or take my firewall down. I just need to know what the problem is because I need music in my life!!!!!!!!!!! so if you know what the problem can be can you please PLEASE assist me ASAP. I am and have been using Mozilla Firefox for a while and never encountered a problem as this. SO... Thanx much in advance.

If you're having this issue with all sites, you may want to clear your browser cache and then restart your computer. What version of Firefox are you using? There has been known Flash issues with version 3.0.1. Can you also try using Internet Explorer? Do you see the imeem media player at all?

To use the imeem website we require the following: * Internet Explorer 6/7, Firefox 1.5+, Safari 2.0+ * The latest version of the Flash Player http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ * JavaScript Enabled http://www.tranexp.com/win/JavaScript-enabling.htm * Cookies Enabled http://www.imeem.com/howto/howtoenablecookies.aspx * Pop-up blockers disabled * Ad-blocking extensions disabled If you have all of that, then you'll need to check to see what's blocking imeem. A few things that have been known to block imeem; • Firewalls • Anti-spyware program • Anti-virus program • FireFox add ons (Ad Block, Ad-Block Plus, Noscript) • DoubleClick To unblock the Doubleclick; • In ie 7, Doubleclick is under tools---> internet options ---> privacy ---> sites. Remove doubleclick.com from the Domain list if it shows “blocked”. • In FireFox: tools---> options---> privacy---> exceptions---> Remove doubleclick.com from the Domain list if it shows “blocked” If you’re still having troubles: • Make sure you’re using the latest version of Firefox and Flash. If not, upgrade. • Remove Flash completely, restart your computer and then re-install Flash again. To get Flash go to http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about.• Clear your cache/cookies Once finished save all your changes, close out and try again.
