El duodécimo álbum de estudio de Depeche Mode se pondrá a la venta el 20 de abril de 2009. El primer single empezará a sonar en las emisoras de radio a partir del mes de febrero.
En el nuevo álbum, que está siendo producido por Ben Hillier, habrá al menos dos canciones compuestas por el cantante David Gahan. Una de esas canciones es “Wrong”. Otro tema que irá en el disco se titula "Peace".

La fase europea de la serie de conciertos del grupo británico Depeche Mode, llamada "Tour of the Universe 2009", iniciará en Israel el próximo 10 de mayo, que prevé visitar 28 ciudades en 22 países.
Considerada la primera gira de estadios, la banda visitará Grecia, Turquía, Reino Unido, Alemania, Italia, Eslovaquia y Francia, entre otros, para finalizar el 11 de julio en el festival de Porto "Superbock Super Rock", que se realiza en Portugal.Después de romper récord de ventas europeas en su pasada gira "Playing the Angel" en 2006, Depeche Mode tocará para un millón 300 mil admiradores en la gira "Tour of the Universe 2009", se informó en un comunicado.
Se espera que los británicos interpreten éxitos con los que hicieron historia como "Just can't get enough", "Personal Jesús", "Policy of truth" y "Enjoy the silence", por mencionar algunos.Con la gira europea, el grupo también estrena contrato trasnacional con sello Mute, que ha sido la casa del trío británico con más ventas desde 1981, cuando la disquera lanzó el sencillo debut del grupo: "Dreaming of me" en Inglaterra.
El contrato con la firma significa que la empresa lanzará la música de Depeche Mode en Estados Unidos por primera vez, así como en el resto del mundo.
De esta manera, el primer lanzamiento será el doceavo disco de la agrupación y estará disponible fuera de Estados Unidos el 20 de abril de 2009.

El 8 de Julio estara el grupo en Valladolid continuará en el Bilbao, dentro del festival Bilbao BBK LIve 2009, el 9 de julio y llegará a Sevilla el 12 de julio con una actuación prevista en el Estadio Olímpico.(España - Spain)
A esas fechas, por cercanía, debe sumarse la del 11 de julio, dado que los Depeche Mode actuarán en Oporto, capital del Norte de Portugal, show previsto dentro del Super Bock Super Rock Festival.

HIS SECOND SOLO ALBUM,
IN LATE OCTOBER

Depeche Mode front man DAVE GAHAN will release his second solo album - HOURGLASS - in late October (exact date to be announced). The Mute release is the follow-up to his 2003 solo album Paper Monsters, which marked his debut as a full-fledged songwriter. The disc earned critical acclaim worldwide (with Q magazine citing it as one of the Top 50 Albums of the Year) and spawned sold-out solo tours of the U.S. and Europe (as captured on the 2004 live DVD release Live Monsters).

Gahan's growth as a songwriter was represented on Depeche Mode's 2005 album Playing The Angel, the group's first album to feature Gahan originals; his three contributions included the single "Suffer Well." A two million worldwide seller that vaulted to Number #1 in eighteen countries, the album was accompanied by a 2005-2006 international tour reaching 2.5 million people across 30 countries.

While Depeche Mode is catching their breath, GAHAN recently returned to the studio to record an array of songs that would become HOURGLASS. Created without the pressure of a deadline, GAHAN wrote and produced all the songs in collaboration with Christian Eigner (drums) and Andrew Phillpott (guitars) of the Depeche Mode touring band. They worked at Gahan's 11th Floor Studios in his adopted hometown of NYC where he's lived for the past 10 years. Tony Hoffer, known for his work with Beck, Air, the Kooks and the Fratellis, has been tapped to mix the album in July.

Gahan says HOURGLASS is more electronic-sounding than Paper Monsters, "but we were very aware of the importance of keeping urgency in the sound and a feeling of spontaneity. We didn't want to get bogged down in trying to make everything sound perfect. You want to keep the rough edges."

Gahan adds: "Christian plays drums and Andrew can easily find his way around bass and guitar - and then we're basically cutting all this stuff up and fucking with it by using ProTools, effects and all kinds of stuff. Accidents do happen, and they're good."

With its themes of racing against - and running out of - time, the songs on HOURGLASS dig deeper into Gahan's psyche. "I'm still that teenager who's desperately trying to grow up, but in total fear of it really happening," he says. The album's tracks include "Saw Something," "Use You," "Endless," "21 Days," "A Little Lie," "Deeper and Deeper," "Love Will Leave," "Down," "Miracles," "Tomorrow" and "Kingdom."

Este álbum aún no cuenta con un sencillo de presentación pero sí con un completo listado de canciones que incluye Saw something, Use you, Endless, 21 days, A little lie, Deeper and deeper, Love will leave, Down, Miracles, Tomorrow y Kingdom.
El disco ha sido grabado en los estudios 11th Floor de Nueva York bajo la producción y composición del propio Gahan que ha contado con la colaboración de Christina Eigner a la batería y Andrew Phillpott al bajo y a la guitarra. Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air, The Kooks) será el encargado de realizar las mezclas el próximo mes de julio.
El ahora solista espera repetir el éxito que logró con su anterior Paper monsters (2003) aunque puntualiza que tendrá un sonido "más electrónico. Hemos sido muy conscientes de la importancia de evitar las prisas para crear un sonido que queríamos crear de forma espontánea. No queríamos quedarnos atascados haciendo algo que sonara perfecto sino quedarnos en el sitio adecuado".Temática
Como explica el propio Dave Gahan, buena parte de sus nuevas canciones reflejan "el adolescente que todavía soy y que intenta desesperadamente crecer, pero también el adolescente aterrorizado porque realmente eso suceda".
