To L Lawliet (and all who may say something similar to him or her): There can be drawbacks to your method. Imprison people so they can escape and do more harm to others. Or when their time is up it turns out that they might not have "learned a lesson" and they can go around doing more harm to others. (The justice system isn't flawless) However, if criminals just happened to start dying off people might realize "hey, we shouldn't do this" because it might seem to them as if it's only happening to 'bad' people. But yeah, I'm not going to keep explaining that.
As for the song, I love it. If it doesn't make you think of the scene in which it played it just gets you to think about anything. I love the entire soundtrack from Death Note.

I agree that Light was wrong and corrupt, even though his intentions were good. But I think his willingness to sacrifice peace of mind and his normal life all for the good of 'his new world' made him a far more interesting character than L

Light deserves to die from all of what He has done to the people that He killed because humans does not have the right to kill. It is best that the criminals are punished or imprisoned.
