Peace On Earth

Peace on Earth

Peace on Earth
Means so much for you and me
Feeling it in our hearts with joy
And being sin free

Peace on Earth
Means loving each other always
In good times and bad times
Being a helping hand with a smile

Peace on Earth
Means giving and giving
Not expecting anything back
And yet feeling loved

Peace on Earth
Means every day makes you smile
For you are happy being you
And just being able to love

Peace on Earth
Means so much to a child
He feels love and comfort
And warmth in his heart

Peace on Earth
Means we feel loved within
Not pain and sorrow
But peace in our being

blog post There will be a day...
Posted in World Peace on Apr 19, 2009 at 1:18 AM by Esther B
Current Mood: grateful

There will be a day when all the soldiers of all the armies
in all the big places and little places of our world
will place their weapons at their feet
and march in unison to the call of peace.

There will be a day when the great minds of the people
of all the nations of the Earth will join together
and link our global resources with those in need,
wherever they might reside.

There will be a day when illness, starvation and famine
command the compassion of our world and the peoples
of the United States and Iran, of Great Britain and Ireland,
of Israel and Syria and of all other nations will join together
to share medicine and resources and rejoice in there commonality
and not threaten one another over their petty differences.

There will be a day when the people of the western hemisphere
regulate their goods and wastes to preserve
the wellbeing of the people in the east.

There will be a day when the goods and products of the world
are distributed equitably throughout the world
and farmers will grow their goods to fill the mouths of the hungry
and never again fear that their tables
and pockets will be left bare in the process.

There will be a day when all people have access to transportation
and virtually limitless energy that is generated without damaging
the chain of life or spoiling the waters
and wildernesses and darkening the skies.

And there too will be a day when people no longer consider
such statements as the fanciful idealistic nonsense of the unrealistic.
And that this generation will be remembered
by a thousand generations hence as the one that stood proud:
that it was this generation that held the stewardship of man
as he passed from primitive and dangerous to truly intelligent and inspired;
that our magnificent world was saved by reason
and that all our tomorrows were not permitted
to disappear quietly into the darkness.

blog post One Family, One World
Posted in We are One on Feb 12, 2009 at 10:17 AM by Esther B
Current Mood: thankful
Whose heart could you lift right now? Let Me rephrase the question. Whose heart could you not lift right now? Whose heart cannot use some lifting? Who has not had troubles in his life? Who has not been hurt? Who is not still carrying some scars? The need for upliftment is great.

What if you actually believe that everyone is your brother, or your sister, or mother or father, or son or daughter?
What are the changes that such a view would make in you? And if everyone you touched with even a dot of love gave that dot to another, how long would it take before everyone would have felt the touch of your love? How long would it take before everyone would bless everyone?

Then where would the base emotions go? There would be no place for anger, greed, selfishness, insecurity, fear and so on to exist. Everyone would feel the support of loving arms. Think of it, everyone would be brother, sister, mother, father, and child to you. Who would not be your family? Then We would truly have the Family of Man on Earth.

When everyone helps everyone else, who would need help? Where would be the room for suffering? Who could possibly shoot another? Who would not be helped across the street? Who would go hungry when there is food for all?

No one would sacrifice, oh, not at all. When all are welcome and all extend themselves, sacrifice wouldn't exist. Joy would take its place.

Picture a world where love abounds. Picture a world filled with Greatness. In this world of love, every single soul would be Christ, or Buddha, or Mohammed, or Moses. Everyone would be enlightened.

You wouldn't want enlightenment just for yourself. You would want it for everyone. You wouldn't have it any other way. You would want everyone to rise with you. No one would even think of competing. There would be love for all and no need for solace to anyone. There would indeed be One Nation, One Family, One World.

I can think of no better picture than to think of where all would be included. There would be no exclusion, no banishment, no imprisonment, no punishment, no crime, no wrongs. All would be right with the world. Everyone would have a pillow to rest his head on.

All children would be everyone's. No one would be motherless or fatherless. The word orphan would be unknown. There would be no foster parents either because every child would belong to all. There would be no adoptions either because there would be no need to adopt when every child is yours to begin with.

There would be no thieves, for who would even think of stealing from his neighbor or himself? All would be neighbors, and in the fullness of light, you would indeed love your neighbor as yourself. You would know above all that your neighbor is yourself.

You would see Me in everyone, which is to say, you would see yourself in everyone. Words like Thou and I would no longer exist. Words like Thou and I would be preposterous. No one would know what the meaning of such words could possibly be. The concept would be unheard of.

All would be We. We would become so grand and wonderful, that We would inevitably become I again, and We all would know that there is definitely, definitively, only One and how wonderful that One would be.

Savor this world I ask you to picture now, for this picture will manifest itself right before your eyes.

~Desiderata~

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
And remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
Be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
And listen to others,
Even to the dull and ignorant;
They too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
They are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
You may become vain or bitter,
For always, there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble,
It is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
For the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
Many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere
Life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
For in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
It is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
Gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
Be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe
No less than the trees and the stars;
You have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
Whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life,
Keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
It is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

The Value Of Woman

In the beginning of the world when God decided to create woman, He found that He had exhausted all the solid materials in man and did not have more with which to dispose. Before this dilemma and after a deep meditation, He did this:

- He took the roundedness of the Moon,
- The soft curves of the waves,
- The tender adhesion of the climbing plant,
- The trembling movement of the leaves,
- The svelteness of the palm tree,
- The delicate shade of the flowers,
- The loving look of the deer,
- The happiness of the sun and the tear drops of clouds,
- The inconsistency of the wind and the fidelity of the dog,
- The shyness of the turtledove and the vanity of the peacock,
- The softness of the swan feather and the hardness of diamond,
- The sweetness of the dove and the cruelness of the tiger,
- The heat of fire and the coldness of snow.
- He mixed so unequal ingredients, formed the woman and gave her to man.

After a week, man came and said,"Lord, the creature You gave me makes me unhappy, she wants all my attention, never leaves me alone, she chats incessantly, she cries without a reason, it looks like she enjoys making me suffer and I come here to return her because I can no longer live with her!!!"

"Well," answered God and took the woman back.

A week passed, man came back and said, "Lord, I find myself so lonely since I returned the creature You did for me, she sang and played at my side, she looked with tenderness and her sight was as a caress, she laughed and her laughter was music, she was beautiful to see and soft to touch. She took care of me and protected me when I needed it, she gave me sweetness, tenderness, comprehension and love without conditions, please, God, give her back to me, because I cannot live without her!!!"

"I see," said God, "now you value her qualities, that makes me happy very much. Of course, you can have her back, she was created for you, but do not forget to take care of her, love her, respect her and protect her, because if you do not do so, you run the risk of staying without her again... "

Dear Friends, let us live in PEACE & Love each other, always...

Happy International Day of PEACE, everyone... :)

ref:http://12inspire.blogspot.com

The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly. The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982.

In 2002 the General Assembly officially declared September 21 as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.

By creating the International Day of Peace, the UN devoted itself to worldwide peace and encouraged all of mankind to work in cooperation for this goal. During the discussion of the U.N. Resolution that established the International Day of Peace, it was suggested that:

"Peace Day should be devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples…This day will serve as a reminder to all peoples that our organization, with all its limitations, is a living instrument in the service of peace and should serve all of us here within the organization as a constantly pealing bell reminding us that our permanent commitment, above all interests or differences of any kind, is to peace."

Since its inception, Peace Day has marked our personal and planetary progress toward peace. It has grown to include millions of people in all parts of the world, and each year events are organized to commemorate and celebrate this day. Events range in scale from private gatherings to public concerts and forums where hundreds of thousands of people participate.

Anyone, anywhere can celebrate Peace Day. It can be as simple as lighting a candle at noon, or just sitting in silent meditation. Or it can involve getting your co-workers, organization, community or government engaged in a large event. The impact if millions of people in all parts of the world, coming together for one day of peace, is immense.
International Day of Peace is also a Day of Ceasefire – personal or political. Take this opportunity to make peace in your own relationships as well as impact the larger conflicts of our time. Imagine what a whole Day of Ceasefire would mean to humankind.
