Taufik is 1.8m tall and weighs 70kg. Born a Saggitarius on 10th December 1981. His family consists of his mother & 2 brothers. Taufik speaks both English & Malay fluently. Producing music, playing computer games, basketball & skateboarding are some of the activities Taufik enjoys doing.
Taufik's route to Stardom:
2004 - Emerges as the FIRST Singapore Idol on 1st December 2004.
2005 - Debut album "Blessings" achieved DOUBLE PLATINUM status in Singapore in less than 20 days of the album release! The FIRST for a local English album in the past decade!
- FIRST local artiste to have his own STAMPS.
- Held his FIRST solo showcase to a full house audience in Kallang Theatre on April 2005.
- Named Bukit Batok Youth Ambassador to encourage youths to join in Grassroots activities.
- Listed in the Singapore Book of Records for being the FIRST Singapore Idol.
- Duet with singer/actress Rui En for National Day 2005 theme song “REACH OUT FOR THE SKIES and performing it as the finale item at the National Day Parade at the Padang.
2006 - Releases exclusive music content through digital platform on StarHub, a first ever collaboration of such in Singapore.
- Performed at the HYPE UP CONCERT at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Oct 2006.
- Releases second album "All Because of You" which he wrote and produced 8 of 10 tracks.
- Only Singaporean artiste to be invited to perform at Malaysia’s NTV 7 new year countdown special NITE OF SOULFUL STARS alongside Ning Baizura, Vince Chong and Mia Palencia.
2007 - Named to record and perform ASEAN 40TH ANNIVERSARY Theme Song “RISE” at the Asean Tourism Forum Opening Ceremony in January.
- Malay Single “Usah Lepaskan” tops MediaCorp Radio RIA 89.7 FM Chart for a record of 11 weeks.
- Named the BIG HELP AMBASSADOR for NICKELODEON pro-social Big Help Campaign.
- Second Malay Single “Sesuatu Janji” topped RIA 89.7 FM Chart for 4 consecutive weeks.
- Only Singapore representative to perform at TV3’s Karnival Jom Heboh at Danga Bay JB with Malaysia’s Mawi, Awie and Indonesia’s Irwansyah.
