In Jack’s Honor-- Jack Kerouac, the father of the Beat movement, heavily influenced the prolific explosion of Jazz, especially the Bebop genre established by Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, among others. Influenced by Gary Snyder, Kerouac integrated the evolvement of his Buddhist studies in his writing, which he called Spontaneous Prose: a literary technique akin to stream of consciousness. Kerouac purportedly wrote prose without edits. He wrote autobiographical novels (or Roman à clef) based upon actual events from his life and the people with whom he interacted. This group is a repository for those that continue to travel Jack’s journey.
