The band Tohoshinki has risen to third place on Japan's Oricon Singles
Monthly Rankings. In Oricon's public announcement on August 27th, sales
volume of Tohoshinki's 12th Japanese single "SUMMER" accumulated to
120,507copies that landed them on third place. This is another significant
record, following their August 7th's record position of second place on
Oricon Weekly Rankings.
Sales of the month in first place is the Johnny Junior project unit Hey!Say!7's "Hey!Say!" which sold
161,761 copies. In second place is Ai Otsuka's single with sales of
128,322 copies. Following Tohoshinki's third place is AquaTime (
83,353copies), Tackey & Tsubasa (70,959 copies) in fourth and fifth
place. Rip Slyme (62,958 copies), Orange Range (57,000 copies), RSP
(55,317 copies), Flowser (54,274 copies), Morning Musume (50,337
copies) ranked # 6 thru 10 place.
In the first week of August,
only lagging very little behind Hey!Say!7, Tohoshinki placed number two
on Oricon Weekly rankings. However, their breakthrough of 100,000 in
sales in its initial release week is an accomplished achievement that
was highly regarded. Afterwards, they slid down the chart, dropping out
of the top 50 rankings, but came back on an upward swing on the fifth
week, rising to # 34 place.
