"Bewitched" remakes from India and Japan
Posted Feb 08, 2006 at 4:20 PM

Many US television fans love the 1960's show "Bewitched", even after the awful 2005 film remake.

But in India and Japan, they've taken it one step further and made localized TV remakes.

"Meri Biwi Wonderful" is the story of Raj, a creative director at an ad agency, and his magical wife who is attempting to control her powers for at least a year, to become a real live girl.  Sound familiar?  Tanaaz Currim even has a vague resemblance to the late Elizabeth Montgomery!

"Oku-sama wa Majo" ("My wife's a witch") is the Japanese version, complete with Ichio, the Larry Tate of Japan, and of course the Endora-like mother-in-law Daria.

Oh my stars.
