Artist: The Platters
Description: Peak No. 1 of the Top 100 in 1958 and No. 16 of Billboard Top 100 in 1959. R&B group formed in Los Angeles in 1953. Consisted of Tony Williams (lead), David Lynch (tenor), Paul Robi (baritoner), Herb Reed (bass) and Zola Taylor. Many personnel changes after 1961. Lynch died of cancer on 2/1/1981 (age 61). Robi died of cancer on 1/2/1989. Williams died of diabetes and emphysema on 14/8/1992. "The Platters" inducted into the《 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 》in 1990. Serveral unrelated groups used "The Platters" famous name today.
