Jack Johnson Hawaii Theatre Show Tickets Now Available On-Line



Hawaii fans asked to be first in-line for Jack Johnson En Concert, and he delivered! The Kokua Hawaii Foundation Member Pre-sale and Hawaii Theatre Box Office-only sale of Jack Johnson En Concert and live acoustic show proved to be a big success!



'We were so excited to have the opportunity to buy tickets in person,' remarked a fan that got in-line at 6am Saturday morning, 'it really increased our chances of getting the seats we wanted and of getting tickets at all!'



If you weren't one of the die-hard fans who woke up early and stood in line this weekend to get your seat to the Jack Johnson show, you're still in luck. Tickets to Johnson's intimate Hawaii Theatre performances on November 13th and 14th are still available but are expected to go fast once they open up for sale online starting Tuesday, October 27th, at 9am.



These shows are Johnson's only appearances in support of his En Concert live DVD and CD release, which also hits stores Tuesday, October 27th. En Concert chronicles the special visual and musical moments from Jack Johnson's 2008 Sleep Through The Static world tour. The live CD features collaborations with Hawaii's own Paula Fuga and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder in addition to select tracks from the 2008 Kokua Festival.



All proceeds of the Hawaii Theatre shows will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.

The World premier of Jack's new film En Concert went down this past Saturday at The Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, California. Jack surprised everyone by making a last minute appearance. The evening included the world premerie of the new film, an exclusive raffle, a Q&A with the director Emmett Malloy and Jack closed out the night with a short acoustic set.

It's been over a year since the Sleep Through the Static tour finished up so there was a little bit of rust, a few "once in a lifetime" versions, some requested rarities from the audience and even an attempt to play a new song for the first time. Looks like we'll have to wait until the next tour to hear that one. All in all Jack, Emmett and the whole Santa Barbara hometown crowd had a great night. And perhaps, most importantly to some, Jack was sporting a new look.

The Film: In the summer of 2008 Jack Johnson took a trip through Europe, playing everywhere from historical venues to classic outdoor stages making it the biggest tour of his career. The film is a collection of live performances with Jack's quartet, Adam Topol, Merlo Podlewski and Zach Gill, along with special appearances by G. Love, Ben Harper, Mason Jennings, Neil Halstead and Matt Costa. Through weathering the stormy nights in Newquay to surfing on a river in Germany, to playing the packed house in London's Hyde Park, the film takes you on a trip and captures the connection between an audience and an artist on an international stage.

Surprisingly, he let our cameras join him on this tour. The Album: The 2008 world tour had a ton of special moments, and this CD represents some of the finest. From sharing the stage at Bonnaroo with Eddie Vedder, to leading a massive singalong at Bercy in Paris, to wowing a festival crowd at Outside Lands, to stepping onto the stage alone to close the show at Red Rocks. Longtime crowd favorites from Jack's catalog are interwoven with passages from some of Jack's own favorite songs.

Zach Gill (ALO, Jack Johnson) is headed out for a west coast tour with Kyle Hollingsworth of the String Cheese Incident. Each artist will perform a full set and the night will wrap up with an epic double keyboard set.

Jack Johnson :: En Concert film and album due out
October



After a few minor delays, Jack's new film and live album are locked for an October 27th release date (October 26th outside of the US).

The release will be
available in a number of different formats including CD, LP,
DVD, Blu Ray, Online, and in a special deluxe package that
includes the CD, DVD, and a 60 page booklet). There will be a
fan preorder in late September, and opportunities to see and
hear parts of this release. Watch this space for more news.

AICT Tanners High School with their new “Jack Johnson Uniforms”!



AICT Tanners High School is an all girl
boarding school that is trying to encourage female education in
Tanzania. This small village happens to have one of Tanzania's
few, widely scattered public schools. Kids from long distances
are sent there for their only chance at an education. They must
move to Pahi and find someone to take them in. The Tanner Family
along with the Grounds family helped to build a dorm for 60
girls. Today 230 girls live there at no charge. Jack donated
t-shirts to the school and above you can see some of the girls
sporting their new "Jack Johnson uniforms".
