So this morning I got told that "Just Got Started Loving You" was the most requested song on the entire Jones radio network wich is more than 130 Radio stations this week. Unbelievable ya'll! More requested than any other song on the charts more than the new Garth or the new Kenny. All I can say is thank you & I love ya'll! Keep it up we're kicking serious ass out there.

blog post I know this is a LONG time over due.......

But here goes anyway! Next stop is WMIL in Greenfield WI. to play for Kerry Wolfe (PD) & Mitch Morgan in the conference room. Kerry has seen me play several times & had me play a new faces of country show for him several years back & I've had dinner & drink with him & his wife on several occasions. Shannon & I played our set & it seemed to go over very well. Kerry is also a fan of Shannon's music & asked him to play a song and Shannon played through his version of the classic Marvin Gaye song "Let's Get It On" it went over well & after some conversation we packed up & headed to the airport to catch a flight to Detroit.

Thursday July 26th
Lobby call is a merciful 9:30 so we get to sleep in & get breakfast before we go to meet Scott Gaines (APD/MD) at WDTW. We played a couple songs and it went really well. Detroit is a big Country market. You may never have guessed it with it being the home to Kid Rock, Bob Seger & Eminem. Next stop is WYCD to play for Tim Roberts & Ron Chatman & some of their listeners. I love when they bring in listeners it's a chance to spread some Mafia love. We played a 6-song set that went over really well. The listeners & staff were all very complimentary staying around to get "Ottographs". It went so well that afterwards they put us live on air to play some songs & spin the single. I had done a show for WYCD several years ago at a golf outing with Jessica Andrews & Marcel& had a blast then & it was just as much fun this time! About 7 hours & 360 miles later we pulled into Lexington KY. & turned in for the night.

Friday July 27th 8:00 AM
Lobby call for a 5-minute car ride to WBUL to meet Mark Gratin who used to be at WWQM in Madison Wi. Mark is a friendly guy & a fan of Shannon's & mine. It was a fun on air interview the morning crew there are all good guys we played songs & told jokes & walked out feeling good for our drive to Louisville, which is Shannon's adopted hometown. We spend the day running around checking out the city & dropping in to some of Shannon's favorite spots including Ollie's Trolley a burger stand with special seasoning that we all loved. We had dinner with the PD of WAMZ & local legend & country dj hall of famer Coyote Collins & his Lady Friend at an awesome Italian joint in downtown. Coyote is a very funny guy with lots of great stories. He' been in radio through it's glory years so it's interesting to get his take on things he remembers my last album & said a lot of kind words. All & all it was an excellent evening of food & fun with a legend in the business. We left him with a copy of the album & drove back to Nashville for some rest and relaxation to prepare for the next week. More to come stay tuned.
