JESSE & JOY are two young musicians & siblings who were born in Mexico City (JESSE is 24 and JOY 20 years old) from the marriage of a Mexican American family. From a very early age, both of them began demonstrating their great taste and passion for music, but only in 2001 (when they had 18 and 15 years of age) did this authentic “band of brothers” decide to fight for their dream, and began writing a very wide range of songs and knocking on doors in the competitive and difficult world of music.
On April 18th 2005, JESSE & JOY had their greatest dream come true: an exclusive record deal with a transnational label: Warner Music Mexico, a division of Warner Music International. This deal was a breakthrough in their lives and marked the beginning of a promising musical career, one which from that day forward experienced a steady and successful advance in the Latin and international music scene.
JESSE plays the guitar, piano, drums and sings background vocals, while JOY performs as lead vocal and plays an exceptional rhythmic guitar. Brother and sister form the duo that will fascinate young music lovers all over their homeland and worldwide: JESSE & JOY.
On December 3rd 2005, JESSE & JOY made their debut before an audience of one hundred thousand people at the Mexico City main square, and the performance was broadcast nationally by the biggest Latin TV network in Mexico at the closing of the “Teleton 2005” program, an event in which they were sponsored by the popular Latin band “SIN BANDERA”. This was undoubtedly a hugely significant moment for the beginning of their recording career.
In January 2006, JESSE & JOY traveled to San Diego, California for over one month and recorded their first production, working along with the well known pop producer and hit-maker Kiko Cibrian, who has worked next to great music stars like LUIS MIGUEL.
In May 2006, JESSE & JOY gave a successful opening act performance for the English pop phenomenon JAMES BLUNT, a performance that surprised not only the singer and songwriter of the worldwide hit single “You’re Beautiful”, but also the music media and the audience that met them for the first time at that show.
Just after releasing their debut single “Espacio Sideral” in Mexico on June 27th 2006, the song became a top ten national success and brought their upcoming debut album “Esta es mi vida” to the top of the Mexican sales charts when it hit the stores on August 22nd 2006.
Early in 2007 “Esta es mi vida” reached Gold Record certification in México for sales of over 50,000 units and continues to top sales charts along with the bashing success of their second radio hit single “Ya No Quiero”.
JESSE & JOY are one of the most promising and refreshing musical discoveries of the last years and it will not be long before their music gets inside the heart of Latin and American music markets.
