Accounting Manager/Controller
Location: San Francisco, CA
The Accounting Manager/Controller will be a key contributor to imeem's finance, accounting, and operations. This successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, solve problems with a big-picture and hands-on approach, and excel in dynamic workload prioritization. He/She will report to the VP of Finance on the responsibilities below.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Manage Big 4 audit process; maintain auditor relations
- Go-to Expert on Revenue recognition treatments and equity accounting
- Determine all accounting treatment and policies based on in-depth knowledge
- Create, socialize, and maintain internal financial processes/policies (e.g. expense reviews, employee reimbursements)
- Maintain monthly-close process and schedule
- Manage and Improve A/P and Vendor reporting process
- Manage and Improve A/R and Collections process, including invoicing
- Maintain all Customer and Vendor relations
Reporting
- Project-manage and execute on inbound requests for reports and information
- Maintain banking relationships
Business Operations
- Work with cross-functional teams to define requirements and implement systems for finance & accounting
- Play project management role on ad-hoc initiatives, as needed.
Successful candidates should have the following qualifications/requirements:
Technical:
- College degree; CPA preferred
- 5-7 years experience in Accounting, including:
- Directly supporting business unit execs or senior execs in Finance & Accounting
- Direct responsibilities in Accounting such as preparing journal entries, managing subledgers, GL, and month-end closes
- Manage Big 4 financial audits
- Experience with Revenue Recognition and Equity Accounting in the Internet space
- Experience leading integration work following M&A
- Excellent skills in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Navision, and Quickbooks
- Recent start-up experience. Strong preference for Internet background
