imeem, inc. is looking for a System Automation Engineer to join our world-class team of technology and engineering professionals. In this position, you will help add automation to our current back-end processes and provide a self-service solution for work that currently requires manual processing. If you are successful at creating a self-service system and have excellent programming skills, you will be well positioned to be a key developer on the engineering team while the responsibilities for monitoring the system and responding to key people’s needs can be shared with other operational or development engineers.

Key Responsiblities:

• Manually add all content provided by third party to the system in a timely manner
• Tune and manage the current content ingestion system as needed
• Oversee the procedure for delivering content and be primary contact for handling the operational aspects of content delivery from external sources
• Respond to internal requests to ensure that certain key content gets into the system and track down problems related to specific content
• Monitor all ingestion, take note of the errors that are occurring and help to build the necessary monitoring, alerting, and recovery infrastructure to make the system run continuously with minimal human intervention
• Document in detail the ingestion procedures and software components used for ingestion of content

Successful candidates should have the following qualifications/requirements:

• One or more years proven and recent experience in a system administration role or demonstrated equivalent responsibility
• Computer Science/Engineering degree or equivalent knowledge from work experience
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Understanding of client-server architecture
• Experience writing python code and aptitude to understand advanced frameworks, such as twisted networks
• Experience working in Unix
• Ability to communicate in detail about technical problems discovered
• Attention to detail and results
• Sense of urgency when dealing with issues
• Sense of responsibility and accountability when given special access to live system
• Ability to program in Java, c/c++ is a plus
• Ability to work with PL/SQL is a plus
