The Winner of the Joey McIntytre Poster Contest!!!

Thank you to all of the amazing artists, who participated in the imeem Joey Mac poster contest.

I was really blown away by the the special work that was done. As a fellow artist, it was really fun to imagine where you guys got your specific inspiration and what vibe you were trying to achieve. So many great posters. I loved Sylvies "out of the box" look with the digital font and beautiful abstract energy... Montse also had a distinct look that was very inviting... I thought Kim Jones' work had a lot of class and a really smooth touch that I identified with.

But the artist that really got me the most was Melanie D. All 5 of her posters were really special. Some were perfect in their simplicity- like the one of just my hat with a deep red background (sure way to a man's heart is to complement his hat). Others were at once throw backs to the old time concert posters, but with a definite fresh edge to them.

It was hard to pick just one but in the end I went with the one with the five live images of me. To me, it had that old time class but captured the energy of a live performance and anyone who knows me, knows that nothing hits me more than performing live. It also has an old school Broadway vibe to it, all the while saying something new. And the cherry on the top was the saying on the bottom, which is an inside thing that only the fans would know by going to the show, but it also stands on its own and gives it a "don't you wanna know" thing to it.

So congratulations to everyone...amazing work!

But especially to Melanie. It is an honor to be an inspiration to such great work! Bravo!!!!
