I'm not much of a counting crows fan either but I do agree that this music feels like it's missing SOMETHING. Whether it be a banjo, a better drummer or something else... I found myself waiting for this song to pick up and take off. I feel like it has SO much potential. It is lyrically sound and Ms Teix is probably right about them being pretty nasty live...

touche. the shrek 2 soundtrack was probably not counting crow's crowning achievement nor has their body of work been that strong post-90's... but highly highly highly recommend giving "august and everything after" a spin. intricate melodies, pensive lyrics, all combined with heartwrenching earnesty - it's solid gold. avett brothers are a ways off, BUT on the way.

a "baby" counting crows is a terrible way to describe this band. lyrically this band is superior to the Couting Crows, a band that made the soundtrack for an animated movie starring an ogre. while many complain about the absence of the banjo, i fail to see the need, they create a full sound without it. their growing popularity scares me, hopefully it want cause them to forget their roots

is it just me or do they sound like a "baby" counting crows. with that said, counting crows is one of the best bands to have come along in the last 15 years and the avett brothers are still a ways off...

just saw then live at ACL festival and they so filled my heart up for the day! I'm a relatively newer fan, and their latest is really touching live, even in a large setting like an outdoor festival. Can't wait to catch them next time around in a smaller venue too! and oh my, scott is gorgeous!! love this newest album, that ain't hard to say!

jon lieber;; i agree their music is a little differant than their older stuff, but have you seen them live?? they have AMAZING energy. like its unbelievable. and the more you listen to avett brothers the more it grows on you. thats what i think anyways.

sorry guys but i just don't feel it... I guess they stayed underground so long for a reason. It just feels like they are missing something. This song would be a great song to throw in a movie but i wouldn't pay to go listen to it.
