More hood than gold fronts on a 2 year old. Yet with the intelligence of W.E.B Dubois. Khingz, one half of your mom’s favorite rap group Abyssinian Creole along with Gabriel Teodros, is Seattle’s answer to hip hop’s question of who’s the greatest mc alive(or so I humbly believe) .
Raised thru the 80’s and 90’s in the forgotten neighborhoods of Seattle’s south end surrounded by drugs, crime, dirty police and a system that ignored the outcry of the marginalized people of his home, Khingz turned to rap as a tool to allow the voice of his community to be heard. Having performed all over the world (from Seattle to Durban South Africa) and released 3 albums, with 2 groups (maroon colony’s daze like this and Abyssinian Creole’s sexy beast) and a solo (khalil crisis Mi Vida Negra) he now stands poised to release his next solo record called from “slaveships to spaceships”. This record promises to be a visceral depiction of his personal journey from lost broken hearted ghetto child striking blindly at a world he felt abandoned him to a man who can stand tall on the motto of let go and let love. He also kills mc’s biatch!
