Sooner or later we begin to understand that love is more than verses on valentines and romance in the movies.
We begin to know that love is here and now, real and true, the most important thing in our lives.
For love is the creator of our favourite memories and the foundation of our fondest dreams.
Love is a promise that is always kept, a fortune that can never be spent, a seed that can flourish in even the most unlikely of places.
And this radiance that never fades, this mysterious and magical joy, is the greatest treasure of all - one known only by those who love.

blog post The Dash by Linda Ellis

Current Mood: Nostalgic

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth...
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars....the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard...
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile...
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash...
would you be proud of the things they
say about how you spend your dash?

"It is only possible to live happilly ever after on a day to day basis"

This CD was ordered months before the wedding. I made sure of all the details, listed all the songs that brought meaning in our relationship. I listed the songs in order and made sure the person that will make it will follow it just the way it is. I wanted it to be perfect because we will be giving it away to people that will share the joy of our unity when our wedding day comes. I left the CD shop already picturing in my mind how the CD would look when it's done. So PERFECT :)

We went back after a week to check and approve the sample they made. That day was real busy for us too. We looked at the layout and liked what we saw so we approved it and told them to make the copies already. We got the CDs two weeks after that and we were ready together with our friends to put it in its case and get and label it to make sure all our guest will get one.

During that time, I noticed the song list on the labels. Annie's song was not in it!!!! Gosh!! How could i have not noticed it when we went in to approve the CD? That was the most important song, I will be marching with that song ... I was devastated. It was too late to make the changes now ... huhuhuh .... Ken did not know how to make me feel better, I was in tears! After awhile, I looked around and realized, it's just a small thing, all the other things that matter and that would make our wedding special are all here, our family, our friends, all of them trying to console me and telling me it's Okay .... Well, as guilty as I am of being so selfish that day, it taught me an important lesson that I know all of us can learn from ... Things in our life will go wrong, our plans will not always turn out quite the way we want it to be and no matter how much we plan each and every detail of our life, we are bound to overlook things and no matter how much we beat ourselves up over it, it's already there. When it happens to you, take a look around you, think of the people that cares and loves you, of all the things you have that no one can put a price tag on. It's not worth sweating over the small stuff .... Disappointments, mistakes, trials, pride, will be a continous part of life, it's up to us to decide if we will put it on the top of our priority list.

The CD is now 8 years old but I still hold it dear not only because it's a souvenir for Ken and I's special day but because of the lesson it taught me. The wedding went on even if the songs were not complete. I was still able to march to Annie's song. That day was perfect in the eyes of everyone including me .... because I was with all the people I care for and most of all, it's my first day to start the rest of my life with Ken.

IF DANDELIONS WERE HARD TO GROW THEY WOULD BE MOST WELCOME IN ANY LAWN
--- andrew v. mason

When I was younger I loved dandelions
I would close my eyes make a wish and let the dandelions carry it up above
watching the dandelions fly away gives me a sense of security that my wishes will soon come true
I used to like watching it sway to wherever the wind blows
It does not fight the wind, it goes to where it's direction is heading
I remember how beautiful it looks as it sways and follows the wind

I wish things were just like the old days
When I used to appreciate the dandelions and not consider it a weed
Just like wishing and being carefree, most of us have given up wishing and blowing dandelions
instead, we want our yard to look as perfect as the yard next door
We are busy keeping up with other yards that we forget to appreciate life
Well today, I think I would go out there and look for dandelions and maybe just maybe
Make a Wish ... :)(kitcasares)

Posted in Live, Laugh, Love ... on Apr 04, 2008 at 4:37 AM

My life was flashing before my eyes
A second later, I walked away
Like my heart had crashed and burned in shame
You pulled me from the flames
I took your hand and you helped me upon my feet
I confessed but you had forgiven me
There's courage in the truth you said
Our love will never end
You shield me from danger, you're my shelter
You are my hiding place
There's an Angel on my shoulder, here tonight
Making sure that I'm alright
When I'm falling fast, you rescue me, you love unconditionally
And when I'm cold and so alone
Back in your arms I feel at home
I pray that you will always be, A Guardian Angel
Sent for me
My dream comes between us every now and then
I make mistakes, get in trouble, time and again
I ain't proud of who I am
When I'm down you understand
Blinded you can always seem to show the way
You're the light, You're the reason I'm here today
If you cry, I will cry, So dry your eyes
There's an Angel on my shoulder, here tonight
Making sure that I'm alright
When I'm falling fast, you rescue me, you love unconditionally
And when I'm cold and so alone
Back in your arms I feel at home
I pray that you will always be, A Guardïan Angel
Sent for me. REPEAT 3x

A Prayer for Children (Ina J. Hughs)
taken from the Book "Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul . . .

We pray for children
Who give us sticky kisses,
Who hop on rocks and chase butterflies,
Who stomp in puddles and ruin their math workbooks,
Who can never find their shoes

We pray for children
Who stare at photographers from behind barbed wire,
Who've never squeaked across the floor in new sneakers,
Who've never "counted potatoes,"
Who are born in places we wouldn't get caught dead,
Who never go to the circus
Who live in an X-rated world.

We pray for children
Who bring us fistfuls of dandelions and sing off key
Who have goldfish funerals, build card-table forts
Who slurp their cereal on purpose
Who put gum in their hair, sugar in their milk
Who spit toothpaste all over the sink,
Who hug us for no reason, who bless us each night.

We pray for those
Who never get dessert,
Who watch their parents watch them die
Who have no safe blanket to drag behind,
Who can't find any bread to steal,
Who don't have any rooms to clean up
Whose pictures aren't on anybody's dresser,
Whose monsters are real.

We pray for those
Who spend all their allowance before Tuesday,
Who throw tantrums in the grocery store
and pic at their food,
Who like ghost stories,
Who shove dirty clothes under the bed,
And never rinse out the tub,
Who get quarters from the tooth fairy,
Who don't like to be kissed in front of the carpool,
Who squirm in church and scream on the phone,
Whose tears we sometimes laugh at
And whose smiles can make us cry.

And we pray for those
Whose nightmares come in the daytime,
Who will eat anything,
Who have never seen a dentist,
Who aren't spoiled by anybody,
Who go to bed hungry and cry themselves to sleep,
Who live and move, but have no being.

We pray for children
Who want to be carried,
And for those who we must,
For those we never give up on,
And for those who don't have a chance.
For those we smother,
And for those who will grab the hand of anybody kind enough to offer . . .

Adopted from an E-mail sent by a friend, just want to share it to all ...

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that was not supposed to ever let you down, probably will. You will have your heart broken more than once and it gets harder everytime. You will break hearts too so remember how it felt when yours got broken. You will fight with your best friend. You will blame a new love for things an old one did. You will cry because time is passing too fast and eventually you will loose someone you love......So take many pictures, laugh too much and love like you have never been hurt because every sixty seconds that you spend upset is a minute of happiness you will never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin."
