About

Description
hey world, this is lab and I just wanted to drop some jargon on the concept of the Black Eniggma.

The stereotype of Hip Hop is split between mainstream playas, gangstaz and pimps andthe stereotypical Hip Hop true believer; "The Backpacker" or "Conscious Rapper" or those that choose to fuse Hip Hop with other musical forms to represent what is to the future of Hip Hop. The Black Eniggma is the balance of all of the aforementioned archetypes in the context of Black culture from antiquities to present, while reconciling contradiction into balance and harmony. Some people think that it is mysoginistic to look at naked women, some people think Hip Hop should be just party music and they dont look for more than that in it. Some folks consider the Black experience just another chapter in American Pop culture. The Black Eniggma sees it from a different perspective.

The Black Eniggma is the Black kid that grew up in the projects, but still is a part of the Gifted and Talented program that busses him from the projects 3 times a week to be around other "gifted" children from different backgrounds at a special magnate school program in the suburbs.

The Black Eniggma is the kid with older brothers that used to gangbang in LA, but the Black Eniggma rather ride a skateboard and read comic books.

The Black Eniggma is the college student that becomes Golden Key Honor society, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, France Merrick Fellow, Ronald E. Mcnair Fellow, Deans List, Academic Honors and graduates from college with a 3.0,while still smoking a gram of Kind Bud before class everyday (dont try this at home).

The Black Eniggma is the ugly dude that always has a better looking girl than you do and still doesn't use money to get honeys.

The Black Eniggma is the kid that grows up with a Dad that sympathises with the Nation of Islam and a Mom that is Pentecostal and at the same time understands the relevance and importance of both perspectives.

The Black Eniggma tours and performs underground Hip Hop in the spring and summer, then starts a PHD program in the fall.

The Black Eniggma is an brother that can jam to the Yin Yang Twins and Sun Ra in the same night club.

The Black Eniggma defies convention and stereotype by being a real person.

Nobody is perfect and nobody is worthless. I like naked girls, I study Marcus Garvey and Cheikh Anta Diop.

I like foul offensive sex and battle raps, but I develop community programs for "at risk youth" in my city.

I am a Poor Righteous Teacher and at the same time, Christ is my role model.

who can truly judge? This is a new era, the typical is a myth.

the 20th century is over, allow your mind to be reborn so that you may grow in truth and essence.

Dont judge a book by itz cover or itz table of contents. take time to determine the true substance and nature of life, because more of us live in an illusion which we consider an absolute reality.

The sad thing is, the illusion always ends and many people end with the illusion.

The Black Eniggma is the embodiment of the best of Black folks and at the same time the Black Eniggma is the struggle that all Black folks are faced with.

Ultimately, The Black Eniggma is a regular dude with an extraordinary essence.

So keep on poppin them thongs and singing them redemption songs.

I have recently discovered that my enigma is that of the "Ghettoclectic" variety.

the Black Enigma explains the ethos, but Ghettoclectic describes the aesthetic.

Ghettoclectic is the style that only poverty and heart can mold.

I used to rock throwback kicks from like 1990 to 2002. during that time, all the old kicks from the 80's were on the clearance tables. so i could get a pair of Adidas Forums for like 20$ and a pair of Air Max for like 35$. it was slick because, the shoes i would buy would be shit you could only find in my city. I guess because they were played out shoes, so they had alot of them and they were cheap. the best part was, nobody was wearing them but me. in 1997 i was in Manhattan for the summer and I went to Bobbitos store in the village, and he saw my all navy blue Forums and was blown! He was like; "where u get them from?" I felt good to be on my own shit in a place where everybody is trying to keep up. they were old ass shoes that were brand new, so I was the only cat rocking them. I found a cheap way to be fresh. thats Ghettoclectic.

now that shit is so trendy, catz be charging like 400$ for old ass kicks that would be on the clearance table a few years ago, had it not been for pop culture. now everybody wanna be down, so they can sell shit for like 10 times what they were when they were new.

another example, I have never liked to buy shorts in the summer. (except basketball shorts) itz been like that since i was in 2nd grade (the 1970's). every summer my mom would cut my school pants off for summer shorts. so i would rock long shorts in the summer from my old jeans and khakis. now they make that shit and call them "capris"?

i still do it cuz thatz my shit, i did it in elementary, I did it in high school, when i skated and now that i am grown, i still rock the long shorts. thatz Ghettoclectic

Ghettoclectic is hearing good music and actually dancing to it.

Ghettoclectic is doing what comes natural, not what a magazine says.

Ghettoclectic is trying to be happy, rather than trying look cool

Ghettoclectic is going after the lost sheep rather than preaching to the choir

Ghettoclectic is backing up conscious song lyrics with community service.

Ghettoclectic is wearing basketball shorts at all times, cuz u never know

Ghettoclectic is having elders that had it hard, but still made sure u didn't.

Ghettoclectic is a dope ass mixtape, check it out

Ghettoclectic is knowing sex and righteousness aint contradictory.

Ghettoclectic is the ability to chill in the projects or a symposium

Ghettoclectic is eating vegan soul food

Ghettoclectic is always being true to God and self

Ghettoclectic is being revolutionary with conservative values
(let me explain that last one)

I grew up somewhere between Penetecost and the Science of Islam.

I dont believe in abortion or gay marriage.

I actually agree with the values of the Republicans more than Democrats

but i aint fooled by everybody that claims to be down with the shit i am on. the point of all this is simple. "I live with me and i got my back tonite, know what i'm saying?"

I rather make up my own box and fill it with shit that i like. I made a box called Ghettoclectic.

r u really ready for the 21st century Black Man?

if so,
holla

Public Enemy -
"Watcha do gitcha head ready
Instead of gettin' physically sweaty
When I get mad
I put it down on a pad
Give ya somethin' that cha never had controllin'
Fear of high rollin'
God bless your soul and keep livin'
Never allowed, kickin' it loud
Droppin' a bomb
Brain game intellectual Vietnam
Move as a team
Never move alone
But
Welcome to the Terrordome"

This brother spoke what felt at the time, when I was a kid.
