This is actually a song sung in Mandarin. The title of the song is "Hung Dou", translated...."Red Bean". If you listen to the English version of "Eyes on Me", the dead give away that this song is not "Eyes on Me" is the tune.

Red Bean is one of my favourtie songs of all time and a popular song at many karaoke joints! I own the CD and has been a fayenatic and a fan of the final fantasy series since i was a young girl.

There has been this common misconception that this song is the chinese version of "Eyes on Me". Although this was featured in the FFVIII single, this is a different song with a different melody altogether. I think what caused this confusion is someone misnamed it (maybe on purpose to get more hits) and so this mp3 was distributed with the wrong name for a while now. I remember seeing this on limewire and kazaa a few years ago.

This is actually a song originally from Faye's "Sing and Play" album. Sung in Mandarin called "Hong Dou", the song title means red bean, referring to a famous line from a classic chinese poem in which the poet uses red bean as a symbol for longing and missing someone close to ones heart but close by in reality. In China, the red bean was hence also been called "Xiang Si Dou", the longing bean.

But anyways, whatever you think this song is and whatever someone calls it...... it's still one lovely lovely song.
