Human behavior is largely an embarrassing joke, consequently most of society and culture amounts to little more than bad comedy. People's personal comfort zones are frequently just poorly disguised pieces of paper armor cobbled together to cover their shame and weakness, which ironically exist primarily because they are covered. So I laugh, because to do otherwise would be to risk becoming part of the joke.

Do people still have these?
clubs
I don't really join clubs, not unless I need to for access to people or resources that are otherwise out of reach. Too many people either sign on with an extant group for the wrong reasons and divert its purpose, or you find yourself in a social circle full of petty politics and drama for irrelevant stakes. So I assemble my own friends and allies piece by piece, with occasional unusually lucky moments where I stumble into a group of fantastic people.
talents
Ninpo Taijitsu, Archery, Muy Thai, Seven Star Mantis Kung Fu, Firearms, Fencing, Programming, Writing, Storytelling, Psychology, Financial Analysis... of course having a knack for something doesn't mean you're actually good at it. A little more focus and discipline would have gone a long way with a number of these "talents". Actual skills are more Finance and Tech oriented, with a dash of creativity.
music
Check my playlists, as you will see my tastes are rather varied, though perhaps there are a few themes to be found running through my preferences.
artists
Anyone good, even if I don't like their work personally. I greatly respect anyone willing to bet their all on their talent, as long as it's someone with legitimate talent and not one of the hacks that seem to always get so popular.
movies
On the rare occasion that I set aside the time to watch a movie, they tend towards sci-fi, anime, introspective action flicks (if that makes any sense) and high quality but odd fringe stuff. Not that I don't watch my share of mainstream big box office stuff from time to time, but I doubt my tastes there would be very surprising.
tv shows
I don't really watch tv, but that's what the internet is for. On the rare occasion that I've watched anything from the networks or cable, I've enjoyed Deadwood, The Office, Zim, and of course a good chunk of Adult Swim. When I was more of a TV buff I loved Law and Order, West Wing, and other shows in that vein.
actors
Tilda Swinton is both remarkable and breathtaking in her unusual appearance and manner (though I can't help but hold some questions regarding her unusual personal life). Deep Roy is pure awesome. Keith David has one of my three favorite voices I've ever heard.

By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, [journalism] keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community. - Oscar Wilde

I must not fear, fear is the mind-killer. - Frank Herbert
Quote of Amusement
I'm not gay! It's a medical condition! - Me (referring to my damaged, and therefore limp, wrist)
