Markey Funk is a Musician/Producer/Record Collector/DJ from Jerusalem. Since 2003
is an integral part of funk/hip-hop movement in the country. Previously known as the man behind beats for BangLaDeath, one of the resident DJ's at the Saturday Night Shelter (Miklat Motzei Shabbat) nights at Diwan, a part of Hug haTaklit trio (with Schoolmaster and Walter the Einstein Frog), musical part of AMN Manifesto shows (with Rocky B. and Finkelstein) and one of the co-founders of Agitpop Records label, he's claimed to be the most active DJ in Jerusalem and the best funk DJ in Israel. While sharing stage on various occasions with such artists as RadioTrip, The Apples (and warming up for them regularly), Coolooloosh, Kutiman, DJ Todres, DJ Mesh, Walter Einstein Frog, Sagol 59, The Foundation, Sole and Kid Koala, and performing constantly with Rebel Sun and Abirei haShulhan haAgol as well as doing special events at places like Uganda and Sira, he also works non-stop in the studio on a number of projects, including music for movies, remixes (most recent - for DJ Caress and RadioTrip) and beat production. He regularly contributes mixes for Kol haCampus and also hosts his own radio show "Soul Power" on Mt. Scopus Radio, 106 FM, Jerusalem.
