Merciless

About

Description
Born in Clarendon Jamaica to Mr. & Mrs Bartley, Leonard St. Ledger Bartley started his career in the early 90’s as a youth who loved dance hall. As he became recognized for his talent, wit and the ability to lyrically outwit many of his peers, his career took off not only in Jamaica but around the world... Soon thereafter the song “Len Out Mi Mercy” hit the charts and Suga Demus then became Merciless.

The Merciless most people know, won the clash at the infamous Sting in 2000 when he was challenged by Ninja Man, Beenie Man an Bounty Killa. No way would a young DJ from country win against these famous artists but indeed he did. Not only did he win Sting in Jamaica in 2000, he also won the rematch in Miami, Florida in 2002.

Merciless' ability to DJ is not his only skill. He has also written hit tunes for artists such as Bad Gal Cecile, Macka Diamond and many others. He has assisted Little Hero, Action Fire, War Waiter and others artists with their careers.

Merciless’ style and talent doesn’t end at the reggae and dancehall genre. No, this talented artist has also worked with Tall Pree in the Soca industry, Little John in the Rap industry and so many others. He has been a featured artist at Reggae Explosion, Carifest and Best of the Best. In the United States. He has been on tour with artists such as Vybz Kartel, Macka Diamond, Ricky Rudy, Frisco Kid, Action Fire, Little Hero and may more. He has worked in Europe, Asia and the Caribbean as a writer, producer and performer.

In the more recent years, Merciless has worked with budding singer Hezron when they were both signed to Danger Zone. "Rattle The Key" was pushed hard in the U.S. hip hop/R&B sectors as a cross market song. He did additional work with Dream Entertainment out of Rhode Island where he pumped out a few songs which are anticipated to be used in an album to be released later this year. In addition, Merciless has done a significant amount of work with Drop Da Bass Entertainment and MBIG Music where he has voiced on the Rootal Riddims and the Shaolin Temple Riddims with other peers in the industry such as Spragga Benz, Sizzla, Mad Anjou, Calib and many more.

Athe industry continues to evolve and include the fusion of jazz, reggaeton and other musical aspects, fans should not be surprised at what they will soon be hearing on the songs to be releases in late 2008 and the new album to be released early in 2009.
