Michael Glover Smith is an independent filmmaker based in Chicago, Illinois. He received a BA from Columbia College in 2000 and an MA in Film Production from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California in 2004. After writing and directing numerous shorts on film and video, Smith embarked on production of his debut feature "The Minx", a self-financed effort that was shot on location in Chicago and Hong Kong in late 2005 and early 2006. The movie was picked up by Echelon Entertainment of Glendale, California and is slated for a DVD release on May 22, 2007. He has also taught courses at Facets Film School in Chicago on the South Korean New Wave and the films of Takashi Miike and Wong Kar-Wai.
