MizzLizz was born in Austin,Tx in 1983. At the age of 13 she began writing poetry as a release. She shared a binder with a highschool boyfriend at the time and they would write poetry back and forth to eachother. By the age of 23, Mizzlizz was introduced to spoken word via the Neo Soul Poetry Lounge. MizzLizz quickly recognized her gift and passion of spoken word. By 2007 MizzLizz competed nationally on Team Neo Soul for National Poetry Slam hosted in Austin,Tx. Team Neo Soul ranked 13 out of 75 teams. MizzLizz would then go on to do a duet with artist Tje Austin. Their duet "Attention of Love" is featured on Tje Austin's first album "Love Me Knots".
