Monica (Arnold) was born October 24, 1980, in Georgia. In the mid-90s, Monica gave R&B a new young face with a mature songstress attitude. But Monica's roots began in the church, where she started singing at the age of 4. At the age of 10, Monica brought the house down with her rendition of "Greatest Love Of All." 1992 At the age of 12, Monica was discovered by Dallas Austin at a talent show in Atlanta, Georgia. When the follow-up single from Miss Thang, "Before You Walk Out Of My Life" was released, Monica became the youngest artist to have 2 consecutive ..1 hits on Billboard's R&B chart. Monica topped the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart for 2 weeks with "Before You Walk Out Of My Life / Like This And Like That." February Miss Thang was certified platinum.
