I never heard the story about the song coming from them jamming, but it is certainly named after the time signature of the song, which is 5/4 - a relatively rare meter. Listen to it and count it off.

This track was conjured up whilst the band were just 'jamming' during a break in between recording another tune in the studio. Completely off the cuff, done and dusted in a matter of minutes. Hence the title 'TAKE FIVE'.
Yet it has become almost the epitome Jazz today. AMAZING HUH!!

I heard this song in the movie Flawless and it is just absolutely breathtaking. It flows so smoothly and juat captures you with all your senses. I had to get up and dance a little.
