Description
Mudcrutch was Tom Petty's original band in Florida before The Heartbreakers.

As told in the Peter Bogdanovich film Runnin' Down A Dream the band broke up after an attempt at stardom in Los Angeles in 1975 and Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, and Benmont Tench went on to form the Heartbreakers while Randall Marsh and Tom Leadon left LA to follow other pursuits.

Tom Petty reformed the band in 2007 to record the upcoming album, bringing back together he, Campbell, Tench, Leadon, and Marsh.

Why did Petty bring Mudcrutch back together? Tom thought they were a great band and said "I guess I started thinking that we left some good music back there, and it was time to go and get it."

The Fillmore show was insane!!! So glad I was able to see Petty with his original band. They really kicked ass and the songs are awesome. Petty is the King!

Mudcrutch is playing the San Francisco Filmore in mid-april! Show is sold out, but if you can get tix through the secondary market, the Filmore is a great place to see a show!
