I was born in Jackson, Mississippi then I moved to Killeen, Texas at the age of 4 (College St. And Hoover Ave. All day). I stayed in Texas from age 4 to age 16. At age 16, September 2000 I had to move with my mother and step father to Aurora, Illinois. I stayed in Aurora until I was 18 and then moved away to college in Dekalb, Illinois, where I still reside.
Biography: I never wanted to be a rapper and its highly unlikely that I chose this desired path. The first time I ever rapped in my life was in Killeen, Texas at my guy Jimmy Butler’s house. My friend “G”, who was like a brother to me, asked me to kick off a freestyle but I wasn’t feeling like it so Jimmy kicked off a freestyle, then G, and then Chauncey. After everybody had spit a freestyle they started asking me to freestyle, so I did. Surprisingly it was pretty good and I received some ooohs and aaahs. I was always creative at writing and talking so it was fairly easy for me to think of things to say. I never rapped again after this until I went to college in Dekalb, Illinois. It was my freshman year and coincidently my roommate made beats and did some producing, this is what lead me to rap.
My songs were always good quality and well written, so this was never the problem for me. The problem that plagued me was my delivery. Every time I recorded a track it seemed non enthusiastic and to laid back so the tracks came out dull and unappealing. After working on my delivery I developed three different distinct styles; a style that focuses on punchlines, a style that exemplifies the correlation between my lyrics and the beat, and a style that allows me to put my swagger on the beat. Lately, listeners of my songs have suggested that if I were to combine these three styles I would be a force to be reckoned with. To be honest listeners are getting all three different styles in some songs, as for others, one of my styles dominates.
Due to the variation in my flow and style I thought that it would only be right for me to develop a moniker one that branches off from my original rap name, R.D.G. -which stood for my initials, eventually the G in R.D.G. was to represent my friend from Texas who first told me to rap and was like a brother to me. The moniker that I chose to go by was Murder Traxx because I feel like no matter who’s beat it is or what song it is, I have one job as a rapper and that is to Murder the track, therefore this moniker was fitting.
So, I bring to you a new face in the game R.D.G.aka Murder Traxx........
