Beta 7 is out, the putobject feature is now working, only issue is that it will always create objects at 9pts. You can now customize settings via the ToolBox patch in the extras menu or by modifying the txt files included with this release.

blog post Known issues
Posted in Max ToolBox on Apr 08, 2005 at 8:27 AM

• There is an issue with the "Dialog" object and Max ToolBox that can cause Max to crash.  It has been recommended by Cycling '74 on the forums to replace the dialog object by an abstraction using the "Text field" object because the "Dialog" object is not supported anymore.

• Objects created with the Command/Ctrl + number key combo won't appear at the cursor position with Max 4.5.3, you need to update to 4.5.4

• The distribute function works better with objects of the same size, optimizations might come for objects of different sizes.

blog post Features and suggestions

Implemented features :

• Placing of objects at the cursor position using the command/ctrl key with the number row (1-9 and 0)  The user can customize the list of objects.  Selecting an existing object prior to creating an object with the shortcuts will connect both objects, the direction of the connection will depend on the cursor position.

• Send messages to objects by pressing a shortcut key and entering text in a popup window.  Full support for message separation using a comma (same as in a message box)  This same popup window will be used to access all the functions of the ToolBox.

• Distribute objects in space horizontally or vertically.

• Connect multiple outlets of an object to multiple inlets of another object.

• Connect the outlet of an object to the inlets of several objects located bellow.

• Connect the outlets of several objects to the inlet of a single object located bellow.

• Connect several objects in cascade. (The outlet of an object is connected to the inlet of the object located bellow and so on for all the selected objects)

• The ability to choose which outlet or inlet is connected. (For all the connection scripts)

• The ability to select several objects and name them by typing a list of names in a popup window.

______

Planned features :

• Distribute objects with no space between them. --> IMPLEMENTED : The user can dynamically change the space between objects by selecting them, pressing a key and moving the mouse cursor.

• Quickly delete objects based on their class. (you could delete all print objects of your patch by typing "@delete print" )

• More complex connections : Connect the outlets of a row of objects to the inlets of a single objects located below and the opposite.  Connect 2 rows of objects together.

______

Features suggested by users :

• The ability to attach a print object to a selected object using a key combo / button --> IMPLEMENTED

• The ability to connect a cascade of objects together. (see this example : http://www.studioimaginaire.com/nat/maxtoolbox/cascade.txt) --> IMPLEMENTED
